The hacked OSD isn't updated/hacked because FMCB uses the OSDSYS-Update to start, but because the FMCB-Loader (the 'thing'/ELF which is 'installed into' the MC-KELFs/osdxxx-files) has a sub-programm implemented, which loads&unpacks the OSDSYS from ROM into RAM, patches it according to the CNF and executes it after patching...
There are a lot different threads, where all this is already explained.
Please don't just say it's because of some technical stuff, I'm very interested and I'd really like to hear full details if they're known.
