Depends on your meaning of "swap." I've seen videos on YouTube about "swapping" where they put an original in, then they take it out WHILE it's still spinning, and then put in the other one (I've tried this once even). But there's a better way; get the PSXLauncher.elf, but it on your memory card, trigger it to a key on your controller, put in an original disc, turn on the console holding the button until PSXLauncher boots up, and then switch for your other version, and you're good to go.
To be honest, I don't know if this'll work with Japanese games or not. But it works fine with back-up games.
@ chessplayerj
On the slim he donīt need PSXLauncher.
It is enough when he put an original PSX-CD in, turn PS2 on, press and hold trigger "R1" so uLE comes up.
The CD stops spinning (if the "Disc-control" in uLE-settings is set to on).
Then he can easy swap the CD without damaging
And he only needs to go to "Misc:/" and start "PS2Disc" or "PS2Browser" (itīs standard in FMCB package)
The backup plays.....
@ synce
Without swap you can play PSX-Backups only with chip or you make a image with your CD and use ffgrievers PSX-emu (PS2PSXe)...
Oh, guess I can delete PSX Launcher :P
Oh so I don't have to cover the sensors or anything? And this will definitely work with my model? Because I thought you needed PSXLauncher and 9x model PS2...
Edit: Nevermind I got some numbers wrong... Looks like model number =/= version number. I pressed R1 and everything works. Thansk for the tip!
