Stuck the files from the 1.8b noobie installer on a 128 meg usb card/mp3 player, with 1 partition, formatted to fat32. The contents from the noobie package are the only files on the drive.

It's a version 15 silver ps2 slim. I had my FMCB Sony 8 meg MC in slot 1 and the new Sony 8 meg card in slot 0, and the usb stick/mp3 player in the first usb port. Started the machine with the tray open, left it open the entire time. Started ULaunchElf from my FCMB menu, went to mass://, loaded up the elf in the main folder. It started the nifty looking installer (nice work ) and first I didn't try to format the card and did a multi-install. It had like 7 megs free on it. It did the install and said it failed on making dummy files. So I formatted the stick with the installer and installed multi, it said it worked, so I went to the fcmb configurator, I pulled out the memory card from the 2nd slot, and it froze the configurator. I restart the ps2, the card I just installed to was wiped. So I stick my main fcmb card back in, boot back into fcmb, ULaunchElf, The installer on mass://, goto format the card, instead of giving me a choice of which card (both cards were in) it asked me to confirm if I wanted to format memory card 2, I said no, pulled out my working fcmb memory card and did format mc again, and this time it saw the wiped card, formatted. I left the original card out for the rest of the install and it worked fine, installed, configured, and booted.

This is more of a complication than a bug report. But can I assume that I need to format all new/virgin cards before attempting to install fcmb? Or I need to pull out my main fmcb card before attempting to do anything? And at least now if I'm doing an install for someone and I screw up, I know I got a backup card on hand. The only thing that bugs me is it didn't see the other card at all when I went to format/install on the 2nd pass, which I could have (if I wasn't reading) formatted/reinstalled to my already installed to card lol.

Quick PS: The card that was giving me the dummy file trouble on the first pass had a guitar hero 3 savegame on it.
