ok so my scph39004's laser went out on me .here's my plan:
1.Find a network adapter [i hope] and put a 40gb maxtor on it.

2.I ask someone to install ulaunchelf on my memory card.

3.Then put hdloader on a usb memory stick.

4.Use ulaunchelf on my mc and boot the elf file on the stick wich will boot hdloader wich will boot my games from my hdd

ask a freind with the same region console (SCPH-xxxx4) to install Free MC Boot on your card. then you should be good to go.

Once done, you should have access to uLE, HDL, and such from your stick.

Just make a folder (case sensative) BOOT

Then name (all files case sensative) HDL to HDL.ELF, and make sure that uLE is going to be named BOOT.ELF

ok so i ask a friend to instal Free MC Boot and then i put HDL.ELF on my stick and on the same stick i put ulaunchelf under the name of BOOT.ELF and i will be able to play games from my hdd without using the lenz right,play them only trough the aplications on the mc.Am i getting this right?
Oh and do i need someting too boot the aplication on the mc or will it boot by its self.

You got it.

uLaunchELF (uLE) is not used to play hdd games, but rather it is an excellent memory card manager as well as other functions. Makes it easy to trasnfer game saves to your USB stick if you fill up your memory cards and don't want to trash them.

But the run down is this,

Install FMCB, and have the files on your USB stick as the way I mentioned.

This way when you boot your system, you will have both uLE and HDL as options on your menu under browser and system configuration.

To install games on your hdd without using your laser, rip an image of the game disc with a program called IMGBurn.Then you can install that game to your PS2 hdd using a program called WinHiip. Use version 1.7.6. (available at SKSApps.com)

This is by far the most effective way to install games onto your ps2 hdd.

one more thing.is hd loader compatible with all new games like lego batman, wall-e,or will it be compatible with the upcoming need for speed undercover or we will have to wait for a newer version?

Might want to check the compatibility list at SKSApps. I'll warn ya on this, we are a bit behind on updating it so you'll have to check our last post of updating the list and run from there on some games on if it works or not.

Does FMCB interfere with a modchip that is installed in my system?
In other words can it be instaled in a chipped system?

Depending on the mod chip. Matrix Infinity and it's clones are working with FMCB just fine. Crystal-Chips have issue with the official 1.7 release of FMCB. Most chips, it's just luck of the draw. some might have to be disabled to run it, while other's have no problems working while FMCB is running.

How can i disable it?
