Hi guys, I just installed FMCB to my PS2 and although I can now play PS2 backups, I still can't play PSX/PS1 backups from what I can tell.

My PS2 is a fat V4 console. Are there any apps that would run or any swap tricks I could use to get PSX backups running, even if it's unrelated to FMCB? I searched the forums but didn't find any clear answers.

    Thanks

I am referring to PSX and PS1 games as the same thing, not about the short lived DVR released by Sony in Japan

I already know it's possible with other versions like V9 slims, but haven't found anything out about V4.

Would buying the Breaker Pro disk work for Ps1 games on a V4 ps2?

You can use a Breaker Pro or an Action Replay/GameShark to boot your backups. I personly have a Codebreaker and a GameShark to boot my backups. Other than that I have a PSX with a Mini GoldFinger. The problem i have is that the games that have redbook audio (Tekken 1, Ridge Racer Revolution, etc..) dont play the music or dont play it properly (audio is off, skipping, or just awful loud sounds). Not sure about Breaker Pro have these problems.

I use Breaker Pro which i got a long time ago for my PS2. Currently it's the only product that was readily available to do this on a PS2. Maybe one day ffgriever will go back to work on PS2PSXe. Until then either a modchip or Breaker Pro are the only options.

Break Pro isn't prefect but it works for a good majority of popular games. I haven't tried Tekken or the ones that he mentioned above but I know that the FF games work and some others that i've played.
