Playing PSX backups on an old Fat PS2
MAJOR EDIT: I don't know why I never mention that I have a Swap Magic Coder 3.6 disc set, since using it just to install FMCB, I just forgot about it.
So if there's a way to boot the backup discs with Swap Magic, that'd be great.
Both my slims crapped out, the buttons on the power board broke off, and even though I can short it with a wire to turn it on, they both constantly stop spinning the discs, so the lasers are probably dying...
So, the only PS2 I still have is my old Fat, It's a 30001 R with 6 screws on the case and a serial number starting with U0, so it's a V5, if I read it right.
I need to know if there's any other way to play my backups other than what I list:
Swap Trick at MC Menu doesn't work, (using a slide card and pulling the tray out just causes the system to stop reading the original disc,)
PS3PSXE is unsatisfactory at the moment.
PSXLauncher.exe doesn't work on anything below V9's.
POPS-00001, I haven't figured out what went wrong, seeing as how I did everything right to the letter.
Any suggestions, even monetary will be considered and greatly appreciated, but hopefully something that doesn't cost an arm and a leg, (even $20-30 is too steep for me right now.)
Thanks in advance.
TL;DR - I have a V5 Fat PS2 I need to read PSX backups, see bold paragraph above for thing's Ive tried already, looking for suggestions.
Edit: I placed the topic here instead of the PS2PSXe forum because I thought this topic was just a general FMCB problem.
