Hey there, I own not modded fat PS2 ( model SCPH-30003 ) with free mc boot and swap magic 3.6. If there's possibility to run psx backups via free mc boot or in other similiar way which doesn't force me to buy modchip?

On your PS2-Model, you need a commercial PS1-Swap-Disc.

He could use a ps1 gameshark or ARmax, maybe the browser method would work on his version, although he would need a flip top for the switch.

Nope, the Browser-Swap wouldnīt work on his version.
All swaps within PS2-Mode wonīt work, thatīs why he need a PS1-Retail-Disc, for swapping.

the swap method you talk about, is it the one where you swap once the playstation logo appears? and by ps1 retail disc, do you mean an original ps1 disc? would the ps1 gameshark swap method work?

REGARDLESS, which Swap-Method is used for PS1-Games, it must be done from within PS1-Mode (after PS1-Logo, when the "game" has been started...), on this PS2-Versions (beside the double-hot-swapping, while drive is opened...).

The other Swap-Tricks (within PS2-Mode) ONLY work on V9 and up.

and by ps1 retail disc, do you mean an original ps1 disc?
Yes, I mean an original PS1-Disc, be it game-shark, breaker-pro, or something different, you can swap with...

would the ps1 gameshark swap method work?
Probably, but I donīt know how this method works (if you swap the discs after PS1-Mode and PS1-GameShark started, then I think so...).

Okay, thanks for all information, I'll try that method and see how it does work.
