Currently I have/can get the following:
    -V7 NTSC PS2 + network adapter + compatible 200gb HD
-Official 8mb Sony memory card with 2mb free
-Gameshark v4? Have to check at my friend's house.
-A boot cd I made here
-A 4th gen 16gb iPod Nano and 5.50 gen-b CFW PSP (1gb and 4g MS) to serve as usb drives
    -Many original PS1/PS2 games

I have spent the last several hours trying to swap Ratchet but to no avail. I have yet to try this method but in the event that one fails as well, what other options do I have to install FMCB without resorting to spending some money (volunteer install, Action Replay, verified PS2 swap game, etc). I don't mind stopping by a GameStop to buy what I need, just want to know if there are viable alternatives given my situation. Also, having successfully softmodded an Xbox, can I use FTP to transfer backup games/saves or would I have to rely on Winhiip. Thanks in advance.

I saw a youtube video. That talked about some kind of oo7 swap trick.<<--never tried. I found a old game shark cd at walmart clearance. Watched a video by a guy name of rock like what on you tube he showed how to replace game save file on memcard then launch exploit from original ps1 game. Once you get that exploit to work and you are using compatible ps2 launch ulaunchelf browser and install fmcb from usb (newbe pachage from sk apps). I wanted to see some one install fmcb on pcsx2 but i did not know if the ulauch elf browser would see usb on emulator. I think it will. I was just reading about game saves. Moving them around. I just did something cool.Once you get yours installed you can do it to.

downloaded simpson save in .cbs format (codebreaker save) opened it with save builder. extracted it then moved it over home network with radhost client.I thought that was the coolest. now usb drives involved.

    That is the "game-swap-trick".

    ...that is the PS1-Exploit...

...and how do you want to connect the PS2-MC to PC, get access to it and read the Hardware-ID of this MC + creating a valid osdmain.elf and write it on there alll from PC?

If there were a method, you wouldnīt need PCSX2.

...and I couldnīt see any reason, why FMCB should be used for PCSX2, if you meant that.

nope. if you want fmcb to work on both, you must do seperate installs. also, use uLE to backup the first install in PSU format as the second one will wipe out the first. once the second one is installed, you can use uLE to restore the first, thus having a dual region setup.

One rules out the other one (your statement about PSU-Backup and the other statement, that the first install of FMCB will be "wiped out", if the second one is installed...).

    1. US-PS2s install to BAEXEC-SYSTEM and JAP-PS2s to BIEXEC-SYSTEM.
    2. If both would use the same folder a PSU-Backup would overwrite the second install, if restored.
    3. (Btw.: ) PSU-Backup does only work for Normal-Install and if Multi-Install is recovered from PSU, it will create seperate files, instead of a real multi-install which cross-links to one file.

@flo: Simply do a multi-install on both PS2s and you have one MC to unlock 2MG-Regions and all compatible models at once.
A suggestion, to keep the installs small.
Use the small DVDELF.bin, or a PS2-Slim for the install.
The additional Region-Compatibility wonīt "cost" ya more, than ~100KB.

you're wrong. what you suggest is cross region which fmcb will not do. for it to work on two seperate MG regions, two seperate installs have to occur.

sorry this quote from me is two seperate ideas should of made that more clear:

Once you get that exploit to work and you are using compatible ps2 launch ulaunchelf browser and install fmcb from usb (newbe pachage from sk apps).<<-- this is on the actual ps2

I should of made a new paragraph

I wanted to see some one install fmcb on pcsx2 but i did not know if the ulauch elf browser would see usb on emulator. I think it will. I

sorry I do not know actual purpose other then see if it would work because like you said each fmcb install identifies that specific mem card.

    @Tna

the mc card would on emulator would be the one in the emulator nothing connected to pc. Again sorry for confusion.

I never said, he should use the US-PS2 to install it for his JAP-PS2 (that would be cross-region-install).
I suggested him to make the install for his JAP-PS2 on his JAP-PS2 and the same for his US-PS2 on his US-PS2.
It will work, since both PS2s use a different B?EXEC-SYSTEM-Folder.

A PSU-Backup is not needed and will not work for a multi-install (that is, what I explained).

for it to work on two seperate MG regions, two seperate installs have to occur.
That is true, but there is no need to use the PSU-Function of uLE in any way in this process.
