At this point, if the backup discs are still not working, then either there is something wrong with the discs themselves or your PS2 has decided to be a jerk. Your two best choices, I would say, would be either ripping new ISOs and then patching/burning them, or follow LopoTRI's advice on using OPL to play the ISOs directly.
