Need help with the swap trick
Hi. First post.:)
Anyway, I've been trying to install Free MCboot using the ps2 disc swap method and an MGS3 disc. First time I tried I kept opening the CD tray with eject and thought my backup disc wasn't working but then I found out I needed to use a slide card. Then I found out I needed to take off the CD tray cover lol. After breaking two things and getting it off I finally managed to do the swap correctly and wow ule didn't load. I managed to use the backup disc to play the game and everything but when I did the camouflage download it actually let me download camo to my memory card. Well I figured maybe I didn't do something right with apache and made another disc. Even double checked that I switched out the ule launcher and everything it still wouldn't run and I was able to save camo to my memory card.
So, I was wondering if maybe my MGS3 copy was different somehow. I happen to the subsistence version that came with the 3 game trilogy set. My theory is that the original snake eater had a camo download that let you access the internet and download camo but this one just has the camo files straight on the disc so it doesn't load NETDOWN.ELF. Would anyone happen to know if this is correct?
Also I have a network adapter and it came with a online start-up disc 4.0. If I wanted to use this instead would I have to burn it to a CD-R or DVD?
Oh and how much space does free mcboot take up on the memory card? I opened up around 3mb deleting useless saves so far...
Any advice will be greatly appreciated. Thanks.:)
EDIT: Ordered a MC from DJ. Disregard my failure.
