    Well the forum is loaded with many different things you can do with a ps2, but according to your "wish" to not spend any money, you not going to be able to do anything with what you listed, especially with only 128kb left on your PS2 MC, you would need at least 2MB for either a PS1 Exploit or Free McBoot.

    We all wanted it to be possible to 'not buy anything', but the console cant do anything without some 3rd party outside help, and that costs a few dollars.
    PS2 Consoles:
    SCPH-30001 [V4] - unmodded (2)
    SCPH-30001-R [V5] DMS4 Pro SE
    SCPH-50001-N [V9] CC 2.0 SLE
    SCPH-79001 [V16] Silver - unmodded

    @JNABK:
    2MB for a traditional PS1 exploit ?
    No, I don't think so...

    I have a BEDATA-SYSTEM folder for exploit use which is only 884 KB, and that includes not only uLaunchELF, but also HDLoader and USBAdvance (both repacked with simplified graphics). If I remove those two the total size remaining is appx 455 KB.

    But apart from that I agree with your conclusion, that there isn't much the guy can do if he isn't willing to invest anything.

    Since he already has a fat PS2, a USB stick, and an HDD, the obvious investments would be a network adaptor for its HDD interface and a new memory card for FMCB installation. And to do that installation he could make use of the free installation services offered in one of the 'Sticky' threads.

    Best regards: dlanor

    Yea, i guess i was a bit dramatic on that, since ubergeek created the TITLE.DB that can load a BOOT.ELF from a USB stick it is reduced to only requiring that file on a MC to run a PS1 EXploit.

    Even without that improvement the folders I described had everything needed to boot. So for a standard boot of uLE only, with everything stored on the MC, the total size used only comes to appx 455 KB.

    Still, I wouldn't recommend anyone to install a PS1 exploit today, except where it's needed as part of the procedure to install FMCB.
