Metal Gear Solid 3 swap disc trick not working *sadface*
Metal Gear Solid 3 swap disc trick not working *sadface* –

Hi, I'm new here...so anyway...
I've copied MGS3 which works perfectly, but when I follow the instructions and select the camouflage download thing it goes to the red screen of insert a PlayStation format disc. I've doubly checked that I've put the uLaunchELF thing in properly and it is...I have all the sensors blocked and everything...I'm using a Slimline model....
So yeah, why 'aint it working? I've seen someone else managing to get it to work, but it just isn't happening here.

pick thread to work in, but stop cross posting. you want to use this thread or the original one you posted in? Better yet, your original post on this will be deleted.

Oh.....sorry, I didn't know. ¬¬
I just want the quickest way of finding out 'cos it's annoying me.

No, what's really annoying is people that don't understand how to spell, or have any understanding of forum etiquette.
Cross posting and double posting are essentially like a little kid that goes. "Mom, mom, mom, mom, mom, mom, mom, mom, mom, mom, mom, mom, mom, mom, mom, mom, mom, mom, mom, mom, mom, mom, mom, mom, mom, mom, mom, mom, mom, mom, mom, mom, mom.
See, it gets annoying. Patience is the number one thing you need on a forum. (yes, I know it seems I have none, but it gets wasted on constantly having to tell people such as your self that the world doesn't revolve around you.)

You should be able to find the thread where someone discussed how they got MGS3 to work for them and confirmed it as working.
Just use the search options, i would do it for you, but your experienced enough i guess after 3 years by now.

Heh, wrong starts on a forum aren't the best I guess. ¬¬
I've looked at the memory card thread multiple times but the thing is that there is no one in the UK to send it to, and I feel kinda reluctant to want to send it abroad because of the amount of shipping, etc..
The person who said they got it working was in that stickied swap disc thread, though he said he used DVD+R's to get it working...But I don't think that'll make a difference (I'm using DVD-R's).
I have looked at different threads on the topic on MGS3 on multiple forums, however they all say the same thing (like it does to me); they swap, works fine, select camouflage download, the laser goes to the centre of the disc and then it just brings up that RSOD.
I've used 2 discs already, one with the normal DCA value and the other with a different one that I changed to make it match with the size on disc, but still nothing.
If anyone's got a way of getting it to work or any other games with NET play that work (Juiced, Rugby League 2 is all I have that has NET) then I'd appreciate it if you'd just post and let us know.
Thanks...

@Livin in a box:
Europe and UK are mutually compatible when it comes to FMCB installs, so if you have a normal UK console whose product code has '03' as the last two digits, like in "SCPH-xxx03", then a working install can be made for you by any installer having a normal European console whose product code has '04' as the last two digits, like in "SCPH-xxx04".
Sure, you will have to pay some foreign postage fees both ways to reach either France, Germany or the Netherlands (your three closest choices), but it's not really all that far away...
