Is MementoDiscPatcher required to install FMCB with the PS2 Game swap trick?
Is MementoDiscPatcher required to install FMCB with the PS2 Game swap trick? –

Hi,
I want to install FMCB on my ps2 with the PS2 game swap trick.
I looked online and found two tutorials.
The method explained is the same but on the second one,
we have to patch the modified iso with MementoDiscPatcher.
The iso of my game 007 agent under fire is already modified with the
uncompressed_boot ELF , but , before I burn it,
Do I have to patch it with MementoDiscPatcher?
Thank you in advance.

That kind of patching is only meaningful for discs that are to be booted through the methods of the Memento firmware in a Memor32 memory card (or by the combination of FMCB+ESR which you don't have yet). There are tutorials for how to use such methods with a Memor32 card for installing FMCB on it, thus replacing the original Memento firmware. But somehow I don't think this is your case here, as you do not mention having a Memor32 card and since you explicitly mention using the 'swap trick' (which is pointless with a Memor32+Memento).
If you are using a normal MC (not a Memor32), and are going to use physical disc-swap from original to burned disc to boot the homebrew stuff in order to start the FMCB installation, then you should NOT 'Memento'-patch the ISO before burning.
That patch (or similar made by the ESR patcher) is intended for game backup discs that you can run later, when you have installed FMCB and ESR, which supports booting of such ESR-patched backup discs without any swap methods.

Well, I tried it but it didn't work.
-----------------------------------------
This is what I used:
-memorex DVD+R 16x
-IMGBurn
-007 agent under fire (Greatest hits v.) NTSC
-the uncompressed_boot_elf of ulaunchelf v.4.41
-ps2 slim SCPH-77001
--------------------------------------------------------------
Can you tell me if something is not correct?
Thank you in advance
