Ahh thanks for clearing that up dlanor. I'm trying to get an opportunity to setup OPL and use it myself, just need to free up some HDD room first.
Man the more and more I hear about OPL, it sounds like a gem.. Maybe I'll just use one of my external USB HDDs I use for work to set it up.
Well Mcboot installed but with no additions cause it couldnt read any other folder besides the swapmagic.elf

Btw thanks for all the help guys
Oh and i have 700 gigs free on my external so would i need a new partition or would NTSF work?
Cause its only 1 partition i think, if im using the term correctly.
And i have WiFi
is that the thread for it? How would i set up a SMB?
Oh actually, if you put the apps you want installed in the FMCB folder, it installs them automatically when you install FMCB. You can see the exact layout of the folders/files in the picture shown at step 1 here.
But yeah, getting a USB flash drive will help tremendously because you'll start to run out of room on the MC for apps if you're using an 8MB and it's just easier to keep a flash drive in the PS2 to keep apps, I wish I had an extra one for such a purpose, it's a hassle taking it out of my keyring every time
As for setting up the OPL, I'm sorry but I have not set it up myself so I don't know the exact steps, but I do have these two links bookmarked for when I get my hands around doing it.
Yeah i need a USB flash drive anyway because none of the modules or boot.elf is found when i try to install MCboot. It installs but i dont think it installs everything.
Anyway thanks for the help.
Ill see what i can do with Mcboot and ESR, and if it fails ill try OPL.
Ohh man that's too bad
If you're willing to look around, try to find a PNY atache, it's the one I bought and I can confirm that it works, it cost me 12 bucks for 4 MB, so it's quite affordable too.
If you can't find that, just try to find one from a common storage brands like SanDisk, PNY, maybe Kingston and Verbatim as well..
EDIT: Ohh nice! Weird how PS2 won't recognize it on its own but it does in uLE. Glad you got it working At least it's one of those install once and forget it type of software
Yeah it can read and launch the elfs. But only in the boot menu. I cant install mcboot with this method cause it freezes with the HP one in and it doesnt detect any files during install with SDHC.
Also i tryed OPL but i dont have a spare ethernet cord. I need the PC connected but its either PS2 or PC.
My parents so far spent all this money on different stuff and they are getting on edge
DVDs that didnt work $30
USB doesnt work $12
different brand of DVDs didnt work $16
Now i need a different ethernet cord $5 ( i think )
Oh and swap magic $30
Sigh... lets see if they will get me a ethernet cord.
Or you COULD simply ship your card to one of our installers and only pay shipping which is only a few bucks instead of 30 for swap magic which you're only gonna use once or twice.
Just a thought.
By the way, I've never had problems with Sandisk Cruzer, so you might wanna look into that instead of HP.
Ph34r T3h Cut3 On3s
i bought HP cause it was at big lots for $12 4 gig.
My friend is letting me test with a ethernet cord to see if OPL works.
Also on monday my friend is letting me use his USB so ill try to install MCboot with his.
OPL works and i just played DDR X.
Thanks for all the help guys! i really appreciate it.
