Mcboot install space –
I recently borrowed a friend's memory card with free mcboot installed and he told me that I can use it to install it on mine using Ulaunch.elf and a usb stick. So downloaded the FMCB noob package, extracted everything to a usb stick and used Ulaunch to launch the installer. Everything was working but I noticed the install took like over 3mb of space and I checked my friend's memory card before with mcboot installed and it only took up like up 2mb. I installed it anyways and noticed my Mcboot icon was over 1mb and his was less than 100kb. How is that possible since I only installed everything he had on his and his install took less space. I only have one 8mb memory card and need the extra space badly. He doesn't know why either since he got his from someone.
If you have a older FAT PS2 it uses the built in DVD files which are bigger than on the slims. You can install FMCB using the slims smaller DVD files and get the same result that your friend has, if you read and use the tutorial linked below.
Specifically this section.
