    i'm having some problem with the mcboot & guitar hero controllers..
    the mcboot is working 100% fine (v1.4), i can boot into hdloader that's on my memory card without a disc in the drive and it's great..

    only thing is i have my guitar hero controllers nearly always connected to my ps2, and with them plugged in the mcboot won't work.. i get the red screen, so i figured the guitar controller always sends a certain signal (left <- most likely) so i changed the config file so that every keypress points to mc?:/BOOT/BOOT.ELF, but this does not work, sadly

    here's part of my config file:

    Code:
    LK_Circle_E1 = mass:/BOOT/BOOT.ELF
    LK_Circle_E2 = mc?:/BOOT/BOOT.ELF
    LK_Cross_E1 = mass:/BOOT/BOOT.ELF
    LK_Cross_E2 = mc?:/BOOT/BOOT.ELF
    LK_Square_E1 = mass:/BOOT/BOOT.ELF
    LK_Square_E2 = mc?:/BOOT/BOOT.ELF
    LK_Triangle_E1 = mass:/BOOT/BOOT.ELF
    LK_Triangle_E2 = mc?:/BOOT/BOOT.ELF
    LK_L1_E1 = mass:/BOOT/BOOT.ELF
    LK_L1_E2 = mc?:/BOOT/BOOT.ELF
    LK_R1_E1 = mass:/BOOT/BOOT.ELF
    LK_R1_E2 = mc?:/BOOT/BOOT.ELF
    LK_L2_E1 = mass:/BOOT/BOOT.ELF
    LK_L2_E2 = mc?:/BOOT/BOOT.ELF
    LK_R2_E1 = mass:/BOOT/BOOT.ELF
    LK_R2_E2 = mc?:/BOOT/BOOT.ELF
    LK_L3_E1 = mass:/BOOT/BOOT.ELF
    LK_L3_E2 = mc?:/BOOT/BOOT.ELF
    LK_R3_E1 = mass:/BOOT/BOOT.ELF
    LK_R3_E2 = mc?:/BOOT/BOOT.ELF
    LK_Up_E1 = mass:/BOOT/BOOT.ELF
    LK_Up_E2 = mc?:/BOOT/BOOT.ELF
    LK_Down_E1 = mass:/BOOT/BOOT.ELF
    LK_Down_E2 = mc?:/BOOT/BOOT.ELF
    LK_Left_E1 = mass:/BOOT/BOOT.ELF
    LK_Left_E2 = mc?:/BOOT/BOOT.ELF
    LK_Right_E1 = mass:/BOOT/BOOT.ELF
    LK_Right_E2 = mc?:/BOOT/BOOT.ELF
    LK_Start_E1 = mass:/BOOT/BOOT.ELF
    LK_Start_E2 = mc?:/BOOT/BOOT.ELF
    LK_Select_E1 = mass:/BOOT/BOOT.ELF
    LK_Select_E2 = mc?:/BOOT/BOOT.ELF
    AutoBoot_Disc = 1
    Debug_Screen = 0
    without controllers, just the MC plugged in (with & without usbstick) -> boot
    with ps2 controller, just the MC plugged in (with & without usbstick) -> boot
    with guitar hero controller, just the MC plugged in (with & without usbstick) -> red screen

    i have a guitar hero 1 controller & a guitar hero 3 controller, both with same results.. my ps2 is a PAL v4 fatty, also mcboot 1.4b does not work for some reason

    does anyone have any experience with the same or nearly the same setup?
    any thoughts?

    I found that Guitar Hero does that with my memor32 card also. It will actually launch whatever I have set as shortcut key.

    I have to unplug it to start the game. But it was only 1 of the games that did it. I have to go check which one. I have 4 Guitar Hero games. GH1 GH2, GH3, and GH80'S.

    Just to chime in, FMCB 13b (the version I use) has no problem with the beatmania IIDX controller (KOC?).

    As a matter of fact, that's why I'm not really planning on using the quicklaunch buttons (yet), because the IIDX controller doesn't have labelled buttons and I can just cruise right into ULE and hit the one button I can identify (X) to load HD Loader with my current setup.

    Edit: Has anyone tried FMCB with a Guncon 2 plugged in?

    well, the strange thing is that it shows the red screen, instead of just doing nothing and going to the browser or whatever..
    the red screen indicates that the config file cannot be read (afaik), but the config file is in the right path, perfectly readable when the guitar controllers are not inserted, but when they are inserted all of a sudden the config file cannot be read?

    there must be way around this.. maybe i should go back to an older version of FMCB then.. see if that works out..

    Aaaaah,... Maybe I also got into this issue, but with a Keyboard.
    I have USB-Mouse/Keyboard, Singstar-Mics, EyeToy-Cam, USB-Sticks and G-Con2 to test with.
    I give it a try, if it works with the newest BETA and post back ASAP.

    i think i saw jimmi state youd get a black screen in this case
    red screen means no boot.elf
    so i believe the controller is 'pressing' a button, and the elf mapped to that button does not exist (or just is not mapped?)

    AFAIK "fdm391" is right.
    If the CNF is loaded and no ELF found/or other bug + DS=on, it'll show a GreenDS, else RDS.

    Had my Guitar Hero Guitar plugged into port 1 and was using Memor32. Each time I held the guitar up (the key where at the top and the body at the buttom) it acted as I was pressing L1 (actually it was HDloader which was intended to be...). When I had the guitar in any other direction the PS2 booted as no key was pressed. So it seems that the "awesome"-mode in GH (when you rise the guitar up to gain extra points) signals somethng to the PS2, maybe we could "decrypt" that "keystroke" and use it in FMCB.

    well i figured it must send some kind of signal.. i personally thought it was left for the Guitar Hero 1 controller, as the following happens in the ps2 browser:
    with a memory card & game disc inserted and a guitar hero controller & normal controller inserted, at the browser screen if you press right to go from memory card to disc it just flips back to the memorycard instantly, so the guitar controller would be sending "left" continiously or something.. haven't tested the tilt-function yet, but the strange thing is that this doesn't work even with my config file (every keypress points to mc?:/BOOT/BOOT.ELF)
