Loading backups from network or usb?
Ok, work with me here... this idea is pretty much from the psp scene...
Alright, for the psp, you got your custom firmwares (thanks Dark_Alex sooo much) with a billion features. One of these features is direct loading of iso game discs (either in full iso's or in a compressed form called cso) from the memory card. Now if you use a special program you can actually stream the loading of these iso's from over the network (for the psp it would be it's wireless b network to a router) or from a usb connection to a pc. I'm not too sure how it all works really, but the idea is, would something like this be impossible on the ps2? We have seen game streaming on another system aswell (gamecube) and it worked out pretty decent I hear. Might be a cool feature to add to free mcboot to have a pc streaming server app that talked to fbmc to stream stuff like that (maybe media too like mp3's and divx).
Though I dunno the dynamics of what exactly the ps2 is capable of, just throwing that out there.
