intermitant boot problems with 64 Meg card
intermitant boot problems with 64 Meg card –
12-30-2008,10:23 PM
a short story then the question..
i installed FMCB 1.8b to a futuretronics 8 Meg card. works perfectly. i then saved the game saves from my 64 meg card so if it stuffed up i could get them back. i then installed FMCB 1.8b to the 64 meg card. it only works intermitantly.
it doesnt seem to see the card at all. i do not believe FMCB is at fault as i seem to remember that the card was slow or sometimes not found before i installed FMCB.
ok the question is .. does the FMCB mem card have to be in mc0 to boot? the reason i ask is that if i put the 8 meg card in mc1 and boot it boots every time. there is a difference with the two cards in the fact i put the usbadv elf in the 64 meg card. so if i boot with both cards in it boots every time and when i browse the usbadv.elf is in the list... can i remove FMCB from the 64 meg card and leave it in mc0 and leave the 8 meg card with FMCB 1.8b in mc1 and have it work?

yes, you will need the configurations for your apps to be set to mc1 or mc? in order to boot them from osd though. this would be ideal since most games search mc0 for save data

I have a Datel 64MB and put all my game saves on that, and then have the exploit on a Sony 8MB card. At boot I have the Datel in slot 1 and the Sony in slot 2 and it works great, no issues. In other words, exactly what you suggested.
