"Installing" is wrong. You have just to copy it to your memory-card. If you want "USBAdvance" i think you have already FMCB on your MC. So copy USBAdvance in an USB-Flash put it on your PS2 and boot uLE to copy it to your MC

Thanks for the reply. I ended up just editing the .bat file to include a command to copy the usbadvc elf file.

I don't know how to add the file to the systems menu though.

Though usbadvance just freezes as its loading? Whats up with that?

You have to edit the FREEMCB.CNF file to include the entry for USBAdvance. Either edit it in a text editor and copy and paste from an existing entry, or use the Free McBoot Configurator (FMCB_CFG.ELF, in my case it's on the MC in /SYS-CONF). Although I do recommend trying out Open PS2 Loader instead of USBAdvance, it doesn't require specially "installed" game images since version 0.8 but can read raw, unmodified ISOs of less than 4GB size, and can also stream games over an SMB network share as well.

    OK, here are the steps.....

Power on your PS2, let the PS2-Browser come up and go down to press the "Free McBoot Configurator",
    or
power on your PS2, press "R1" to launch uLE, go to your Memorycard "mc?:/" (where ? is your slot 0 or 1 where you have FMCB), go to "SYS-CONF/" and press "FMCB_CFG.ELF"

Press "O" to set "x" for CANCEL and "O" for OK.

Go to "Configure OSDSYS options..." and press "O" for OK.

Go to "Configure Item x : yyyyyy" (where x is the number of the entry you have already in FMCB, and yyyyy is the name of your ELF you have already in FMCB).
Now press "RIGHT" on D-Pad till you see a number with no entry and press "O" for OK.

Press "O" on "Name:" to enter a name you want to give for your ELF.

Go down to "Path1:" and press "O" to browse where you have your ELF-File. (you can put it on your MC -mc0:/- or -mc1:/- or on your USB -mass:/-).

In Path2: and Path3: you can specify another Path where you stored your ELF, otherwise go to "RETURN" and press "O" for OK.

you come to the previous menu "OSD Settings". Go down to "RETURN" and press "O"

you come to the previous menu "Free MCBoot Settings". Here you go down to "Save CNF to MC0" (if you have FMCB in slot 1) or to "Save CNF to MC1" (if you have FMCB in slot 2).

Now your entry is in PS2-Browser......

And if you want to put an entry in uLE, then launch uLE, press "select" for settings, scroll to the Button you want to take for your ELF and press "O" to browse where your ELF is stored. Then go down to "OK".

    Thats it........

    Or read this...........

I have to add something for the OP:

Press square, instead of the 'ACTION'-Button you defined on startup.
Now you can link to one directory&ELF on both MCs.

That means your programm is visible, regardless if you conect your FMCB-MC to slot 1 or 2.
If you use the normal method, it is only visible, if the MC and files are in the place where they are configured to be...

Yes, this is handy for anyone who heavily uses OPL's VMC functionality and keeps their physical MC in slot 2 for absolute safety (it's my understanding any risks of corruption with a PMC in slot 1 while using a slot 1 VMC with OPL are fairly low nowadays, but keeping the PMC in slot 2 should have no risk of corruption that doesn't also exist in normal, Sony-sanctioned usage).
