    Hey guys,
I have one of the older versions of FMCB,
I'm using ULE to run the install elf.

I was wondering how to go about installing the new FMCB onto memory card slot 2 ?

    and

How to go about replacing SMS.ELF with something like OPENPS2loader.elf
Do I do just that, replace it, or do I need to manually edit the .cnf file ?

I believe the modern FMCB 1.8 installer gives you a choice of installing to slot 1 or 2. If you feel more comfortable, after you've booted from your existing FMCB card and launched the installer, you can remove the one in slot 1 and leave the destination card in slot 2.

My preferred method is to put OPNPS2LD.ELF (or whatever it's named) in the MC's BOOT folder, and use the FMCB Configurator (FMCB_CFG.ELF) to set up an entry in the OSDSYS to launch OPL. If you put OPNPS2LD.ELF in the folder with the other ELFs, then the FMCB installer will copy it over during installation. These are the steps:

    1) In FMCB Configurator, select Configure OSDSYS options...
    2) Go to Configure Item 1 and press right on the d-pad until you find one without a name listed to the right of the colon and press X/O (depending on the choice you made when you loaded the configurator)
    3) Enter a name for it (most likely you want it to say Open PS2 Loader of course)
    4) Highlight Path1 and press Square. This is important because it allows launching of OPL regardless of which MC slot the FMCB card was booted from
    5) Navigate to your MC's BOOT folder and select OPNPS2LD.ELF
    6) Press Triangle twice to go back to the configurator main menu
    7) Choose either Save CNF to MC0 or Save CNF to MC1, depending on which slot your FMCB card is in
    8) After it saves, select PS2 Browser (FMCB Restart) and find your new OPL menu item on the hacked OSDSYS.

I went so far as to remove the FreeMcBoot stamps on the OSD menu, as well as the use up and down to scroll... now it looks like a regular PS2 OSD but has more menu options.

The easiest way would be to use the updated 'FMCB Nooby Install-Package 2011'.

You can include new apps in different ways.
Either you add ELFs to the install-package (read the FMCB-Tutorials on how-to) and edit the CNF on PC, or you do it later after FMCB is installed (dj's videos should help you).

Oh yeah did what LocalH posted, and it worked, thanks man and everyone else for replying.

though now there's a little problem...

When i start up my system, and there's a backup of a game inside,
ESR automatically runs the game without me prompting it to do so ?

The only solution for me was to just take it out so FMCB could properly load.

you need to disable fast boot option in the FMCB Configurator.

If you want to reach the OSDSYS, just press&hold one of the non-assigned buttons, or those which directly link to it, for example X, or 'DigiPad-Down/Up/Left/Right', whatever...
