Install Free McBoot From Pal Console to NTSC?

Hi to all! Great forum!

Well, I have Free McBoot 1.8 installed on my MC to run on a PS2 FAT 50004 (PAL), work fine.
Also I have a PS2 FAT 39001 (NTSC) and I want to install Free McBoot for this console (but the lens does not work...).
My idea is to install Free McBoot from the MC (with Free McBoot already installed) and that is configured to work in PAL to another MC to work in NTSC.

I can only use the PAL version because it's my only way to install Free McBoot is for that reason I ask this question.

Is it possible?

nope you cannot you need an NTSC PS2 .

I don't know about the experiment that TnA mentioned, but I can say that region free installs are now possible with the Unofficial FMCB v1.8C installer, which is available in this forum board.

this is big news dude so now cross-region now is open ? if yes then you should make a new thread for it .and we will move it to the latest news section .

Technically region free FMCB installs were available for a good while now as that's what was HOT about the FMCB payload that came with PS3-MCA.

And that was why SONY nuked PS3-MCA source repository (Source codes exposed openly how Memory Card authentication works which would allow people to make PS2 memory cards out of ARDUINOS, even.

Agreed.

And if anyone was to read through I_oliveira's posts, one would realize that it was already long possible to re-hash the KELF headers after changing the accepted regions flag in the KELF header, ever since some critical information on the PS3 got leaked. :shhh:

The credit for the region-free version of FMCB should go to Jimmikaelkael and the people who helped him though. I only built the installer for others to use his work without a PS3 Memory Card Adaptor.
