Hi I got alot of questions, first I have a PS2 with a modchip, I want to install FMCB to my memorycard (which I only have 1) so I can launch codebreaker & ulaunchelf easily, will my memory card that has FMCB work as a regular memory card for saving games while playing PS2 games ? also I would like to install FMCB using ulaunchelf to boot into my usb pendrive to install FFMCB.

Which PS2-Version (SCPH) and which kind of modchip (if you know it)?
Some PS2-Versions (those with BIOS 2.30 and up) and a few modchips are not compatible to FMCB or have issues with it in a way...

Yes, you can use it as 'MemoryCard for your games', exactly like before.
If you don't want to waste space on MC with ELFs/Applications, you can put those on a USB-Storage-Device and link to them...

also I would like to install FMCB using ulaunchelf to boot into my usb pendrive to install FFMCB.
Yes, this is the prefered way of most people.
It is also the way, described in the tutorials.

    My PS2 is SCPH-70006 NTSC/J & I don't know what mod-chip I have.

    could be Duo 3 Chip:

    or Mars Pro:

Tried to install FMCB using ulaunchelf -> FCEU (hangs when I select the mass for elf)

When I try to boot FMCB Installer from mass in ulaunchelf, I get a black screen.

Your USB-Device seems to be incompatible.
Try another one, for example a PSP, a DigiCam, another USB-Stick/HDD,...

Btw.: I guess, you used the newest uLE-Version?!

I have sucessfully installed Free MCBoot 1.5, but when I on the ps2 it shows black screen for 5 seconds then launches LaunchELF v4.42a. How do I make it launch in 0seconds ? also if I have a USB inserted already when I on the console it wont load LaunchELF v4.42a.

Tried that but Free MCBoot 1.7, 1.8 & 1.8b just wont run ! Im guessing allot of things were removed after v1.5 ? I really wish to run v1.8b. Also I noticed that my backup games run more quietly with Free MCBoot v1.5.

Hi I just found this info:

-Skip MC: this toogles Skip_MM option ON (1) and OFF (0). If enabled PS2 OSDSYS won't look for update files on the MC when launching OSDSYS from FMCB.

HOW CAN I UPDATE MY Free MVBoot v1.5 to v1.8b ?

Dude (or... whatever... 'Girl'?!),... The PS2 needs some time to load the file from MC and also the loader has todo some work... Also loading the ELF/uLE takes time,...

also if I have a USB inserted already when I on the console it wont load LaunchELF v4.42a.
Well,... I guess you have the newest Nooby-Installpackage 2011?!
Copy the 'BOOT.ELF' to your USB-Device and call it 'RESCUE.ELF'.
Plug your USB-Drive into your PS2 with FMCB 1.5 and start your PS2.

    uLE should start now!
    Re-Install FMCB 1.8b from your USB-Drive...
...or if uLE starts, but still can't start the FMCB-Installer, try to put the Nooby-Package-Stuff into the root of your USB-Device and rename the 'FREE_MCBOOT.ELF' to 'RESCUE.ELF'.

    Nope!
    Just added,...

I really wish to run v1.8b.
Yepp, 1.8/1.8b is better in all cases,...

Also I noticed that my backup games run more quietly with Free MCBoot v1.5.
Do they? ... Interesting,... I don't know, why they should...

I have sucessfully installed Free MCBoot v1.8, it was the pendrive problem, I used an old Kingston DataTraveler 4GB (WARNING: The new Kingston DataTraveler 101 4GB wont work).
