Hi, I have an idea for new version of fmcb -> installing fmcb on any moded console to ANY console (all necessary files during installation fmcb will be readed from dumped bios [eg. console mg 2, dumped bios on mass from mg 4 = working fmcb on mg 4]).

ISN'T this what multiversion install does? allow fmcb to be run on any console?

Having access to dumped files from an other-region PS2 bios is not in itself sufficient for doing the encoding according to the needs of that region. It also requires running some software able to use that encoding method while running, which as far as I know only works (currently) for the native encoding method of the console the software is running on.

It should be possible to write modified installer software capable of using the encoding method of another region, given access to a bios dump like you say, but I don't think any currently available code is capable of doing it.

If it were done it would not require any new version of FMCB itself, but merely a new installer program.

That is not the same thing.

Multiversion install allows FMCB to boot on any console version of the same region.

But szczuru_pasja spoke of a method to do installs for consoles of other regions than the console performing those installs.
This is something the current installer is completely unable to do.
