I followed the swapmagic install guide to the letter, but it just hangs at the swapmagic splash screen. I tried the burnt CD method and it wouldn't read the disc, I think I have a bad batch of CDs or something.

    I have a fat PS2, don't know what version. It's SCPH-50001 if that helps.

Try downloading FMCB 1.8b, i think the first 1.8 release had some problems with installing using CD method but was fixed in 1.8b.

Try the CD method again with FMCB 1.8b and hope it works for you.

1.8b also reads as not a valid PS2 disc in swap magic.

How did you make the CD? We really need a little more information in order to help you.

It could be the media your using, as you already said....or it could be the burn app you used and/or settings.

The CD tutorial works if you followed everything to the letter, so i dont think that is the problem. I didnt write in specific disc brands or burn apps since everyone has something different they use, but i did put what i used to write the tutorial with and that worked for me.

Explain what you mean. The blank line on the bottom? Yes.

The burn app I used was imgburn at 1x write speed.

The only thing i can think of is its either your disc brand or your lens in need of cleaning. Everything else you have mentioned all seem to be correct.

Yeah, I just cleaned the lens about a month ago, haven't had any problems with it reading real discs at all.

Anyway I'm going to buy some Verbatim discs today. If they don't work, then the problem is either my burner or the swap magic disks, and I have two burners here so I doubt it'd be them.
