Try removing the CD once the FMCB installer has fully loaded to its screen. Then see if it will install a normal or even a multiVersion.

You said you have other USB devices, so try them all using this method. I dont have a PSP, so i cant advise how to use it, but maybe try switching on the USB mode before booting the CD.

I burned another cd with fmcb v1.8b which apparently fixes my issue, problem is now I lost my slide card and im going to go insane as now I have no way to boot it anymore.

Is there any way to swap the disc without the slide card????

If you have a thin plastic knife, you could cut a small "V" into the tip and use that as a slider, but the only other way is to remove the cover and expose the disc . You then have to swap while the disc is spinning.....not the safest way, but will work for those desperate enough to try it.

Did you try removing the CD and rely on a USB device for the installation?

Im not sure why its not working for you, but if there is no disc, the installer SHOULD be looking on the USB device for the INSTALL folder.

Try just burning a uLaunchELF CD and use a USB device with the installer and INSTALL folder on its root, that should work much easier since uLaunchELF v4.39 has updated USB drivers and is far more compatible than previous versions.

Should be looking but its not for some reason, the psp doesnt even enter usb mode it just stays stuck on usb mode.

Swap magic seems like a walk in the park compared to installing this exploit.

If you have other USB devices, i'd forget about the PSP and try those instead.....and use that uLaunchELF CD.

Oh, and im not sure about formatting options with a PSP, but it might be its not FAT32 format as to why its 'stuck' in that mode.......just a thought.

No no its definitley FAT32 I reformatted it as that specifically, And no its not the only drive i tried.
im trying an n95 8GB phone and a 1GB sony walkman too all completely empty and fat32.

Now im just gonna give up on trying to get that burned cd to work its WAY too much headache, i think im just gonna try and burn the uLaunchelf DVD image and hope it doesnt mess up(Knowing my luck it will)

Well im confident you will have better luck using uLaunchELF to boot the FMCB installer off any of your USB devices or at least one of them will work.

Just make sure you use a PS2 DVD game as your TOC disc if your SwapMagic isnt a DVD. Just use the refresh toc option when you eject the swapmagic CD for the PS2 DVD.
