whassup guys, anywhoo I was going through google looking for good apps to add for fmcb when I install and came across something that said i have to esr patch games before burning. Is it really a must to patch the iso before burning because i have already made backups of my games and wanna play em straight of the bat without having to rip the image, patch, then burn it (adding to the fact I have no good blank dvd's atm and no money) is there another way of booting the game off the disc without the patch? (Ps. not interested in doing it via usb, already have it full for other things.)

Yeah ESR is the only way without having a flip top case for PS2. If you really want to you can order an external case or cut a hole in the top of yours and do hot swapping with cogswap. This can boot many games without ESR patches.

Honestly, if u have a fat ps2, just use an internal HDD. It is much easier.

Sorry but Esr needs the disk patcher

But OPL uses SMB USB and internal Hard drive so maybe you give it a try over most likely SMB

Yea OPL SMB uses some sort of server with crossover or router to run games works with most operating systems as server and some NAS devices too

read this and at the top check out different things too

    Official OPLv0.8 User Guides

BTW that mostly match .9.1 of OPL as well just game improvements plus a few new features
