HDLoader is used by FAT PS2s to launch games installed to their internal HDDs.
I think I need the PS2 games iso file, then patch with esr patcher. Then do I copy the iso anywhere on the hardrive, and from free Mcboot launch HD Loader?
It's because USBHDFSD (The USB mass storage device driver for the PS2 provided in the PS2 SDK) only supports FAT12/FAT16/FAT32.
Bicouse thats the only way PS2 can "see it".
The PS2 does not understand, not support any USB device (Or particular filesystem on any device) out-of-the-box without any external software.
The file size limit for FAT32 is 4GB (4096 MB). USBExtreme/USBAdvance/OPL/PS2ESDL use 1.00GB parts is because USBExtreme used that format.
And thats why you must did the job with USBUtil, bicouse FAT32 cant work with files larger than 1GB.
Nobody has publicly used another format (Which is superior), so everyone is still using that old standard.
I'll certainly want to change that... but until the v0.8xx PS2ESDL builds are planned, built and released I can't show anyone anything.
