How to install FMCB to slim PS2 using Xploder w/o x-link?
How to install FMCB to slim PS2 using Xploder w/o x-link? –

I have searched for this as best as I can but am finding it very confusing. None of the installation guides on the main Mcboot site seem to apply to me. I am trying to find out how I can install Free Mc Boot (FMCB) to my PAL Slim PS2 SCPH-77003 (date code 6D) using Xploder V5 without an X-link cable. I am trying to do this via its media player.
So far I have copied the folder INSTALL and FREE_MCBOOT.ELF from the noobie package onto a flash drive and successfully accessed that flash drive using Xploder V5 media center. I can see the INSTALL folder in Xploder but not the FREE_MCBOOT.ELF file. How can I execute FREE_MCBOOT.ELF if it is not visible?

I already replied to an identical post of yours over at SKSApps, so check my reply there. Here I will just add that I doubt that this Xploder version can run any elf files. For me it will only display and handle the supported media types, and nothing else...

Yeah, that was me too. I was spreading my bases
Thanks for the reply even if it is a disappointing one. It seems I only have a few options:
1. Buy a fat PS2
2. Buy an ARMAX EVO
3. Pay for someone else to install it for me.

The only payment needed is for postage and adequate (padded) packaging.
If any of the installer volunteers charge you for 'labor', installed software, or any other extra costs beyond the adequate packaging and two-way postage you should supply, then they will promptly be kicked off the list. And the same obviously also goes for anyone stealing MCs from users. Unfortunately there were some unpleasant incidents in the earlier history of this service, so those few 'volunteers' that abused it are now permanently kicked out. But it has been a while since this happened and I do not believe that any of the present team would ever consider doing either.
Some of them have already processed hundreds of MCs for satisfied users, as you will see if you read the service thread. I would not hesitate to send my own cards to any of them, if I needed an FMCB install myself. (Except that some have the wrong region PS2 for me...)
