How do I make an CD with ulaunch, freemcboot, and hdloader? –

I have swap magic. I dont have a USB stick. I only want freemcboot and hdloader so I can play off the HDD without the laser (failing). I have a ulaunch cd but no way to get the other stuff.
How do I make a CD with ulaunch, freemcboot, and hdloader so I can transfer them to the mem card? How do I transfer them?

i would think the easiest way would be to add a folder to the ulaunch cd called elf's then but whatever u want into that folder then boot it with swap magic and browse to that folder from ulaunch then transfer them over using the built in copy/paste function.

If you still want to know how to make a CD, then just use this tutorial (Make uLaunchELF CD) and after dragging BOOT.ELF (uLaunchELF) into CDGenPS2 (in Step 5), just drag more programs like SMS or HDLoader into CDGenPS2's main window and do the rest of the steps to create the CD ISO file. If you want to put your programs into a folder on the CD, then first use the "NEW" folder icon in CDGenPS2 to make a folder, then drag all your files into it.
However, you don't really need a make another CD for all your applications if you already have a CD made that has uLaunchELF on it, since there are other ways of getting files from your PC to the PS2 using uLaunchELF. You can put these programs on a USB key, then put that key into your PS2 and use uLaunchELF to transfer these files from your key to your PS2's Memory Card, etc. You can also use uLaunchELF to transfer files over the network from your PC to the PS2 if you really wanted. I answered a question similar to this here.

@ps2dragon:
From other posts I know that this guy currently doesn't have any USB storage devices, and he doesn't seem familiar enough with PS2 homebrew to be able to prepare a network setup. He doesn't even have a proper (discfree) homebrew boot setup yet, which is his immediate need to get. What he really needs is a tutorial on how to install FMCB while running it directly from CD after a SwapMagic boot of uLE, and without using any USB device, instead having the FMCB "INSTALL" folder (with all subfolder content) on the same CD.
I'm not really into these tutorials myself, but surely someone else must have done the same thing by this time, and jotted down some notes on how to do it...
Do you think you can get him pointed in the right direction ?
Best regards: dlanor

hopefully he stops creating threads on networking. I've merged two and deleted one. This one will remain as is until it goes towards networking. then it will be closed and/or deleted.

Ok, yea I see that now going back through his posts.

That's why I pointed him to a tutorial I made for how to make a bootable uLaunchELF CD, so he just has to add more ELFs to the image, but he hasn't replied yet.
Do you think you can get him pointed in the right direction ?
Sure, I'll do my best with the time I have. So far he hasn't asked any more questions. Best thing would be to show him how to make a bootable CD, since he has the Swap Magic CD and DVD. Unless he's waiting it out until the 3rd when he gets paid and can buy a USB key? ;D
EDIT: I see you're helping him now in this thread on using Host, so maybe that will be the new main thread? ; )

I have no idea how to do half of what you wrote. After I go to PS2Net, the numbers at the top of the screen say:
192.168.0.10 - 255.255.255.0 - 192.168.0.1
I got the PS2ClientLoader, but didn't know how to set it up. I don't know how to set up shares. I have flashXp, but i don't know what to type in where. I just need more details.

I have a tutorial that I wrote up for FTP in uLaunchELF a while ago, but it's long and I haven't used FTP in a long time, so I really don't want to go back into that again. Using HOST in uLaunchELF is better in every way and more simple to use and setup. I didn't read all of yours posts, but in one you mentioned you have a cross-over cable connected between your PS2 and your PC. If that is still the case, then follow the below instructions. Note that you don't need to run "PS2Net" in uLaunchELF when using "Host" to get this to work, it's not required.
Transferring Files Between your PS2 and PC using HOST:
1) Download RadHostClient
2) Run RadHostClient on your PC. Note the color of the RadHostClient icon will remain red until you establish a connection with your PS2.
3) Turn on your PS2 and load uLaunchELF
4) From the main screen in uLaunchELF, press Circle (O) button on your controller, move down to "host:/" and press Circle (O) again. This will activate Host in uLaunchELF. Give it a few seconds until the RadHostClient icon turns green. When this happens, your PS2 and PC have a working connection.
5) Now drag a folder on your PC into the RadHostClient window that you want to access from your PS2. NOTE: you might have to back out of "host:/" by pressing the Triangle (/\) button, and then go back in, before the newly added folder in RadHostClient appears under "host:/" on your PS2.
If you are still having problems, you should open a DOS window from your PC and run this command "ping 192.168.1.102" to see if you get "Reply from 192.168.0.10", which is the PS2. This means you at least have a connection from your PC to the PS2. If there is no connection, you will get "Request timed out". Let me know how it goes...

I refuse to help you anymore if you continue to post in multiple threads. dlanor has been replying to you in this thread, and I have been replying to you here. Just because it's a different location in the forums, doesn't mean we all can't see your post. dlanor is all over the forums, so he can see your post here too. Since you have been posting in so many threads, even over at console-exploits here, I don't even know what you did that worked. So I don't know how you got to where you are now, which makes it even more difficult trying to understand what you're doing to help you properly. Please make up your mind and focus on one thread, or you will only continue to frustrate both the moderators of these forums and anyone who is trying to help you. How would you like it if you spent your day trying to help someone and then they ended up getting help from someone else and all the time you spent trying to help was a complete waste of time?
