I've spent alot of time with this and i have never got it working until recently. ESR autoboots and everything and i see the changing colored screen. Then it brings me to the Lanchelf and says failed to load launchelf.cnf. Sometimes (i installed it a few times n messed with it) it says loaded successfully but just stays there. The game im tring is GTA San Adreas and the game is patched with esr prog. The game does run when i file browse to cdfs:/ and the elf/SLUS number. But is there a way to get it to autoboot the disk...? I must be doing something wrong. The PS2 has a DMS4 Pro and it is disabled when i mess with it.

Thanks in advance. And sorry if this has been asked a shit load of times. I tried looking n ppl have problems with esr not autobooting.

why are you even bothering running esr with a DMS4 installed? It's pointless.

Cause its like a portable modchip, besides that the games have to be patched. I have four PS2, i chipped two and was lazy to chip the other two. I got four of them because I got two at home (im not sure why) and one with my grandparents and one at my other place.

Dude. Stop using numbers as letters. It's horribly annoying. It is by no means "cool" and serves no purpose other than to display lazyness.

And yes, the backup has to be patched for ESR to recognize it. No exceptions.

As for autobooting from FMCB to launch ESR to boot the disc with no userinteraction, you need to use the FMCB Configurator to enable "fastboot." It's clearly marked in the FMCB tutorial.

Sorry about that, I was buzy at the time and I have been used to typing like that.

My backup had been patched with ESR.

And in the configuration fastboot is enabled.

Not sure if you read my post correctly. So I'm gonna say it again
    Chip disabled.
    Backup in drive and patched.
    Turn on, ESR boots up.
    Screen Flashes different colors.
    Launchelf menu apears.
Game loads only when i go to cdfs:/SLUS_209.46

It maybe the backup as I just copied the backup and patched it. I'm not sure where the backup came from...
So I'm gonna look for my original and reburn it as it may be my burn.

    Thanks!

Does that fix it where it tries to goto the browser with iso's patched with esr patcher gui and it recognises it as just a dvd movie? (sorry if it's a little off topic). BTW, those games still load correctly in ESR.

Sounds to me like he's using the memcard version of ESR.
Use the DVDDirect version, the memcard version is for loading homebrew off your memory card etc

sounds right. and it has to be the DVD direct ON that he needs.

I see the same 10 questions over and over and at this point, I only look at key words. makes it easier to cope with repetitive reading.

Yea i figure out the memory card, dvd direct, dvd direct off with the older thread on the first page. I have been using dvd direct, even the noobie package from sksapps is doing that. So i must try another game.

Odd that it jumps back out to uLE in that case, it's never done that for me unless I use the memcard version or GUI version selecting memcard.

Copy the DVDV Direct ON version to the path again (def: MCx:\Boot\ESR.ELF I believe) to be sure.
