Help Please - 007: From Russia With Love

I can't seem to get the swap trick to work. I'm using 007: From russia with love, which has been confirmed to work...I've burned the iso image after replacing NTS.elf with the ulanch. I let the original load to the "PRESS START BUTTON" screen, i hot swap the cd to my back up....music cutz off, animatiosn stop and i have a frozen screen, the game works again if i hot swap again with the original.....

any ideas how to do this? will a slide tool work better?
do i need to have the psp attached with mcboot files attached during the whole process?

please help....

-Edit - For added information, i'm using a PS2 - Fat- SPCH 50001, PS2 Version 1.1
Sensors aren't blocked? as those are for ps2 slim. I have ps2 opened to the disk tray, and there is no silver thing attached to the top of the
case of my ps2.

If it freezes up on the backup, but still works when swapping the original back in...then my guess is its a bad burn, your insertion of the uLaunchELF.ELF is incorrect or the disc media used is incompatible with your console.

You wont need the USB with FMCB on it until uLaunchELF is running ok. Its from there you will need the USB with the FMCB Installer and files.

what type of DVD -R cd is best for me to burn iton?

Thats not so easy to answer, as some console will work using cheap brands, while others MUST use high quality brands, so its always recommended to use high quality discs, like Verbatim. But its best to try a few different brands if you never used a backup disc in that console. If you have, then try the brand that worked.

i dont to waste money trying out cd brands.. is dere a site or something i can check to see which dvd-r work with spch - 50001

If Verbatim discs don't work I don't expect any others will either.
There is no specific disc type for each PS2 model. That would be absurd.

Of course some units are a little more flexible with laser intensity etc, so they may be able to read even some low-quality discs with semi-acceptable results. But that is NEVER any good reason to use lower quality discs. Even if it does work, for a while, it will become the most expensive option in the end, as the more demanding laser intensities will kill the laser unit sooner.

I recommend the same brand and type I always do, simply because they never let me down.

"Verbatim 16x AZO DVD-R" with product ID "MCC03RG20"

If those won't work on your console, then I doubt that any others can.

ok i got a good burn ...now the game doesn't freeze

i still have a problem tho...i got to Need For Speed Demo, which will boot the ulaunch, and i get a black screen which then goes into "please enter ps2,1 cd"

could not having a netowork adapter to play online cause problems?

If you put the original back in, does it also do the same thing? Maybe you missed a step along the way adding uLaunchELF's BOOT.ELF.
