My friend installed Free McBoot v1.8 on my memory stick, he used the "Noob Package" to install the files on my memory stick. We tried my "suppose to be modded memory stick" on his ps2 and it seems to run games fine. Now, I get home and I try in on my ps2 and I get a Pink Screen, then a White Screen after a couple minutes. Can you please help me? I really want this to work.

what is your model number, and what is your friends?

was it a normal install or multi version?

although maybe unrelated... the noob package seems to be missing a file, mainly the DVDELF.BIN, try getting the right file for your region. http://home.comcast.net/~jnabk3/1.7/inject.html

Most likely it has nothing to do with the install or regions, since your able to boot fmcb at all. Im gonna say its just the disc media isnt compatible with your console, as on your friends. Burned discs arent like pressed disc that work on every console, some brands just dont work on one console, while working perfectly fine on another.

Anyway, here are the Guides for Free McBoot 1.8:
    http://bootleg.sksapps.com/tutorials/FMCBv1.8.html Advanced User Guide

    http://bootleg.sksapps.com/tutorials...r_dummies.html Noobie Guide

No, its not 'missing' it, the Noobie Package is perfect for the Noobie install and the DVDELF.BIN is used from each console during the installation, but the FAT consoles have a file size twice that of the slims, so that INJECT method for the DVDELF.BIN is so you can use one from a Slim console to reduce the overall size of the DVDELF.BIN to help keep the install size down a little bit to save MC space.

Its a little complicated for the noobie and is why its in the Advanced User Guide....for more advanced users.
    PS2 Consoles:
    SCPH-30001 [V4] - unmodded (2)
    SCPH-30001-R [V5] DMS4 Pro SE
    SCPH-50001-N [V9] CC 2.0 SLE
    SCPH-79001 [V16] Silver - unmodded

Ok, I tried it on a different disk and it worked. Thanks... now my only problem is the ESR patch. Where can I find it?

ah thanks for clearing that up. guess i did not read that bit

also, i didn't realise he was able to actually boot fmcb... looked to me like the card worked on his friends console but not his, thats why i thought there might of been a region issue...

if i knew he was talking about an ESR issue, i might of suggested a new type of media aswell.

    glad its sorted anyway
