When I try to install Free Mcboot on my Memor32 it stops at "writing osd file". Tried it twice and it keeps staying there for five minutes untill I turn off my PS2. I used the 1.7 pack, placed BOOT.ELF in ms0:/INSTALL/ and it doesn't work for me.

How can I fix this? If more information is needed I will ofcourse give it.

    Thanks in advance.

Ok, I've managed to install it now, but now I have a new problem. I try to start my backup game with ESR but I can't get it to work. When I put the game in the tray and I start up my PS2 it first shows the FMCB screen, then goes to the FMCB browser for just 0.1 sec, then it turns black and then it shows "Loading". After that it goes back to the FMCB browser again for 0.1 sec. It keeps looping and the game does not launch.

When I try to load it via uLaunchELF (I have the .elfs in ms0:/BOOT/ and I have BOOT.ELF, ESR.ELF, HDLOADER.ELF and SMS.ELF) it shows the ESR screen (with "go to psx-scene.com" etc.). Nothing happened so I put in my disc. Then the game starts to flash random colours, and then goes back to the uLaunchELF folder saying "Failed to load LAUNCHELF.CNF".

Can anyone please help me? :'(

Do you have patched your game ISO before burning?
For testing, try a confirmed game from the ESR Compatibility List.
    Slim PS2 SCPH-70004 (v13) w/ FMCB, 3x Sony 8MB, 1x MaxMemory 16MB (Backup card)

I'm not available for FMCB installation service until I can guarantee a processing time of a few days again, sorry.

I did patch it, but I haven't used a confirmed game. I'll try that now then.

Did you use the esr "dvd direct"-version (the ESR.ELF, you have in your BOOT-Folder)?

No sorry, I meant the ms0:/BOOT/INSTALL, that's where I have it.

Also, I used the "mcard"-version before. I've just tried the "dvd direct"-version, and I get the same problem.

Hi. This thread seems to be close to my problem so I post here. I have some problems with my memor32 :/. For some reason my and my sister's computer (OS XP) doesn't recognise my memor32. A couple months ago it worked fine and I installed memento for it and didn't do anything else for it. A few days ago I decided to try to install Free MCBoot for it but found out that our computers doesn't recognise it. (well actually they recognise it but you can't open it) And (un)fortunately I had to format my pc for some other reason and still I can't do anything for my memor32 on my computer.

After that I tried to format the memor32 with ps2 like before (thought that it would be possible again). Well, it wasn't but there were those memento files and I tried to delete them. Deleting took over a hour and nothing happened so I gave up and shut the console and now 2/4 memento files are corrupted (others I managed to delete because they were so small files). Now the ps2 doesn't start while memor32 is on the memory card slot. But I can use it if I put it in after starting the console.

Now that I've told background info I'll ask: can I install Free MCBoot for memor32 with swap magic or with some other method? Or does anyone have any idea how to make the memor32 work again on my pc?

There are several different ways to install FMCB, here are the options:

EDIT: Are you using the save game manager to format the card?
I ask because I have had my Memor32 card for over a year and I haven't had any problems with it. DJ
