Help needed with game swap: Socom CA –

Hi, im a noob to this but im try to install Free McBoot using the game swap method. I have Socom CA and saw it in the tutz and gave it a try. Got the disk image and modified it. Burned it and went hopefully to the ps2 slim that i have. Inserted the original and got up to the main menu, and swapped the disk with the modded one. then the laser in the ps2 begins to make some noises and a jumping motion. the menu works up to when i choose the lan option, then the game completely freezes. any advice would be most appreciated

I never do such swapping myself, but all who have mentioned it agree that the timing is crucial, with some who succeeded being able to do it right only once per ten tries or so (difficulty varies with the games). So patience and persistence is probably all you need.
But someone else who has done it with the same game should jump in here and add a reply with some hints at the exact moment when you need to perform the swap.
It is definitely not something you want to do often, and is acceptable at all only as a one-time measure to get the FMCB installer running. Once you've succeeded with an install this swap method should never be needed again.
