For some reason I can't for the life of me get ulaunchelf to load. And I have followed every last step to the t on http://freemcboot.info/swap.php. I used dvd decrypter to rip and burn the game, burned at 4x.

When I load the second level I get nothing but the games loading screen and nothing else, I've tried the third level as well. My ps2 model is scph - 39001.

Also if I somehow get ulaunchelf to load will a sandisk cruzer micro thumbdrive work for installing fmcb?

Oh I also used sony dvd-r as my burning medium.

Ok now here's something weird. i used the same method as above but instead of using ulaunch to replace driving.elf i used cogswap and that worked. so now is there a way to use this to install fmcb?

Once you have uLE running, all you do is follow the noobie tutorial and install.

You're swapping out the game, right?

Yeah I'm swapping out the game. but my problem is i can't get ule to launch.

but cogswap will launch using the same method for ule and 007 nightfire.

but why is it that cogswap.elf will launch and not ule?

I can only guess the problem lies somewhere in the part you edited the uLaunchELF file and set the filesize or the uLaunchELF your using is somehow been corrupted.

But since you do have Cogswap working, you can use that for your installation by making a FMCB Installer CD:

    http://freemcboot.info/disc.php

    To use Cogswap:

Place an original PS2 game disc in the tray by opening it with the eject button
Close the tray and allow the console to read the disc, press the O button so cogswap can read the authentication and hold it.

When it says "cogswap", you swap-trick the FMCB Installer CD same as you did for the backup.

Then after its swapped, press X to run the disc.
    PS2 Consoles:
    SCPH-30001 [V4] - unmodded (2)
    SCPH-30001-R [V5] DMS4 Pro SE
    SCPH-50001-N [V9] CC 2.0 SLE
    SCPH-79001 [V16] Silver - unmodded

I also tried Nightfire and got the same results as Vspec. I didn't try cogswap but I did try using uLaunchELF v4.40 in addition to what ever version is supplied with the swap disc install guide. Both versions hung at the loading screen. My PS2 model is a 75001 and I tried both a Sony DVD-R and a Memorex DVD-R.

I eventually just bought a copy of Agent Under Fire which worked perfectly.
