    Hello All,

I'm a noob and I need help to install Free Mcboot 1.8c with an official Sony memory card adaptor and official Sony 8mb memory card. I have searched this forum and couldn't find any answers so I"m asking for help. When I plug the Sony memory card adaptor with a Sony 8mb card in it. It says new hardware found and windows wants to update the driver. When I go to My Computer to look for a the adaptor I don't see it.

I download these files from this forum and unzipped them....

    ps3mca-windrv
    ps3mca-tool-fmcb-1.8c

Could somebody help with a step by step guide on how to install these file and others with a offical ps3 Sony Memory Card adaptor, and a official Sony 8mb memory card. Also how do you get the the memory card and adaptor be reconized by the Pc.

I have a Dell destop Pc with Windows XP 32 bit Media Center 2002 service pack 3

    Thanks in Advance

Did you install the driver when Windows asks? You need to go to where you extracted the ps3mca-windrv zip. Did you attempt to run mc-format ?

Yes I did install the driver sorry, I couldn't respond back sooner but pc was acting up.
I'm having trouble using jimmykimmel free mcboot1.8c multi region. I installed fmcb throught his method and downloaded the files from his first post. The files that were installed on my official 8mb sony memory card were as follows:
    your system configuration files
    free mcboot 344kb
    free mcboot 78kb
    free mcboot 211kb
    boot folder 517kb
    sys conf folder 159kb

Is fmcb suppose to automaticlly load when the ps2 turns on because mine doesn't?

Are the files that are loaded on the memory card suppose to be a certain size

What am I doing wrong why doesn't fcmb load for me?

Then I tried using jcc59's method for fcmb for the official ps3 memory card adaptor. I went trough all the steps even used a ps1 dics to make a title db file. When I installed fcmb his way I only had one file on my memory card that was a boot file.

Lastly I reinstalled fmcb using the jimmykimmel method this time the files on the memory card were:
    Free Mcboot 344kb
    Free Mcboot 144kb
    Free Mcboot 211kb
    Boot Folder 517kb
    SYS-CONF Folder 159kb

Am I doing something wrong what are the files sizes suposse to be ?

This is from one of my other posts. I'm not trying to troll repost or be a bother to anyone just a noob looking for a little insite.

Any advice or ideas will be greatly appreciated.

Your console doesn't support fmcb. You need a modchip or swap magic to be able to play your backups.
