    Hi all,

This is my first post so I will try to be as clear as possible.

I sold my old FAT PS2 and recently received a slim SCPH-75004 unmoded PS2. I managed to insatll Free McBoot using my firends moded console which is SCPH-77004 and I used MultiVersion install on MC. I than tried to copy a backup of my game using ISO Buster and burning that to DVD but all I got was RED screen of PS2 not reading disc. Than I used ESR_disc_patcher_GUI_v0.24a to patch extracted ISO from DVD (I get two files one named .ISO one named .CUE) and after patching I burned (only ISO) that using NERO EXPRESS.

After inserting and going into ESR I get message UNKNOWN MEDIA in Drive and after selecting Launch CDVD I get BLACK screen nothing more.

After MultiVersion did not work I tried installing standard version but that did not help either.

Can some one please give some pointers how should I extract burnable ISO. I also tried bunch of burned copies of games which my friend gave me and extracting them but same bad results...

    Any help is appreciated

EDIT: Is there some compatibility issue which games can be played using Free MCBoot meaning not all games work or?

Your problem was so many time posted in the forum.....

The Multi-Install and normal-Install have nothing to do with it....

It depends what DVD-media you use. Vebratim are what mosts say.

    Use better DVD-R than DVD+R.....

to extract and burn the games use ImgBurn. Its the best and for free....

    Burn not on max....

    Do i forgot something??

    Hi,
Thanks for answer and I expected that I will get some of that, but I went trough this forum before I decided to register and post here. I did all according to instructions and that is what puzzles me. I decided to get a hold of ISO which my m8 dl of net of the same game I have, pached it and it went trough ESR fine... BTW I use Vebatim DVD-R its not the quality of my media, I use ISO buster as alternative to DeamonTools for the part I need it to RIP ISO images.

What seems to be the problem is when I rip my games, than it did not work....I will try your suggestion hopefully with sucess

What other apps would you suggest as must have with FMCB?

    Thanx

Seems to be the way you rip the disc to the harddrive is your problem. Try using Imgburn as Lopo said, it has never given me a bad rip.

You might have Verbatim-branded discs, but what does IMGBURN say about the disc manufacturer? If it's CMC Magnetics, forget about running any of those burned discs with your FAT PS2.

A must have is OPL. Then you can rip your games to .iso and play it over USB-HDD or over SMB (LAN).
Then you donīt need to burn your games in hope they work.......

    I am on Slim Now...

Regarding OPL, I have been reading that I can add this without reinstall of FMCB, but just for conversation sake can I place OPL elf into install folder of the FMCB and reinstall than complete package (do I need to rename this OPL elf with some name or can leave it as is?) or to use uLauch to copy it to the MS (I believe that should be more simple). Nevertheless I will go trough this some more but if not a trouble I would appreciate your confirmation koz I do not want to mess something and possibly make my MS inoperable

    Thanks

Edit: Last night I started a burned rip fine but now I am getting message after game loads that I need to insert my analog controller even tho it is in?? Uh...For some reason controller is working fine when in FMCB menu but when game is started it is like it has been disconnected... I tried some OEM controller and it gets detecte but my original one not...

It seems like the first series of slimlines (SCPH-70000) don't have a good laser system either, but you are using a SCPH-75000 series console (So, you need not worry about your laser blowing so soon).

Regardless of the console you are using, don't use cheap discs unless you don't value your laser.

Just put the OPL ELF file into the right place. Don't bother with reinstalling FMCB because there isn't an advantage with doing that.

Nothing can *really* damage your Memory Card's contents, unless the memory card either gets worn out or you pulled it out/switched off your console while data is being written to it.

If you are intending to run games from a USB device, you might want to try out PS2ESDL too: http://psx-scene.com/forums/f253/pla...ps2esdl-63375/ (Playstation 2 External Storage Device games Loader (PS2ESDL))

It's a PS2 game loader like OPL, but was designed and tuned for USB device support. Performance has been reported to be slightly better for some games, and game compatibility with games is different from OPL too.

Are you using a Dualshock2 (PS2) controller? If you aren't, then you might have a bad rip.

I am using standard Analog Controller SCPH-1200, Ok

Is there some compatibility list for FCMB, I am not sure what I found earlier maybe it was for OPL...
