Help with Free McBoot reading burned backups

The problem is not the version.
Your problem is that you don´t read what they are saying to you....

You must copy the file(s) first to USB and then defragment it.
And thats why you should youse Auslogic, cause it makes the job better then other defragmenter.....

Your disk is probably too full. Free up some more space and defragment your disk again.

Keep freeing up space until you can defragment the entire game at least.

Maybe. But a fragmented game will most likely malfunction later on, if it doesn't fail to boot.

I don't remember the version I'm using now, since it's installed on my laptop.

But I don't remember that any particular version gave problems, so the version is probably irrelevant.

thanks for the tip, but I dunno what makes you assume I did not read what SP193 told me. I appreciate every one's time to write me a reply, so why wouldn't I take some to read it.

My USB has 4 GB and game takes 2.81 (rest is free and more than 10% minimum requirement for ADD to work) I believe...

Well,

I did not mention that I use standard FMCB 1.8 not the 1.8C on this card (dunno if that is important at all since ESDL boots up fine). Maybe I should try to dumping the file direct to the USB...

When I use USBExtreme an powerdefragmenter and boot with OPL there is no problem in starting the game, so this excludes a USB compatibility or something... Furthermore, I wrote above that converted using PS2DCDMP and defragmented using powerdefragmenteer works, in some extent. Namely ESDL runs the game but than it freezes when taking the mission...so it is no good option too

Also I will try to convert with USBExtreme and try running trough ESDL, since as far as I understood, it supports dumped games via USBExtreme...

I would really like to try ESDL and see how it looks :)

P.S. I just remembered something, if ISO is previously patched with ESR for burning on DVD, do I have to unpatch this ISO before converting with PS2DCDMP (USBExtreme) or this is not important...

You have to unpatch it...
Just run the patcher again, and this time select the "unpatch" button.....

Ah ok I thought it does not matter and ATM I can't remember if I patched it before using PS2DCDMP...So this means that I can't use my DVD backups that are patched with ESR to dump for USB use?? Koz I haven't seen that as an issue, or it skipped my attention...:rolleyes:

Wrong! ! !

For "USB-use" you can first dump your DVD to "*.iso" with ImgBurn.
Then you have to run the "ESR-Disc-patcher" and click on "unpatch"
And then you can play it or you use PS2DCDMP.....

EDIT: Made ESDL work, game runs smoothly hope it won't get stuck like in OPL.

Just want to give big thanks to all with info, you helped alot. My intention is to give my 2 PS2s (FAT and Slim) to the abandoned children's house in my town and try to organize a relax room for these kids - maybe motivate some young ones to get better at school, as an reward they get a key to play or something ...At first I thought just to give them unmodified but than I started reading about softmod and got more interested in all :)
Now, I am thinking the gift would be really complete if I added HDDs and load them with all the backups I have that would seem like a complete set. Throwing in my old laptop, instead on the garbage, seems like a nice idea.
I know this is not a place to write this, but I just wanted you to know that you helped so graciously, as you did to so many individuals here, but also this time you helped to bring a simile to a lot of kids.

Also I hope I can bother you further with some questions if I have regards HDD. If you have some links you can PM them (not to lose time until I filter what I need), if not I will post in the sub-forum related to this.
