Are you very sure that SCPH-1200 is the model number of your controller? That isn't a DualShock 2 controller, but an old Playstation DualShock controller.

Since it's not a Playstation 2 Dualshock 2 controller, games that only support the DualShock 2 controller might refuse to let you play (And they'll usually display something like "No DualShock 2 controller connected to port 1").

No, there is no game compatibility list for FMCB because it should not change anything in your system related to game playing.

Well I got two of them which read that on the back and 3 that read SCPH-10010 (these seem to work ok) I really did not follow PS2 scene until I sold my modded FAT PS2, so it could be that I am not aware of the exact type, but I read from the back of the controller...These SCPH-1200 I got as an gift so it could be that they belog to old PS1, even tho they do not differ visually from the SCPH-10010 that work fine.

Ok than I guess it is than trial and error in regard to burning copies. Perhaps I should get external HDD and work from there. Buying and installing mod chip cost approx as one good HDD of 500 Gb. In this regard of obtaining HDD do you know if these ebay Chinese work also or it is better to buy some know brand like WD or similar?

And one more thing in regard to booting from HDD and USB, I have stumbled somewhere on a link with a defragmenter that needs to be used if booting of HDD/USB (or was it just for USB not sure any more koz of info overload:crazy:). Is this program really needed or? (I think it is called powerdefragmenter)

Most IDE/ATA disks will work, but beware that Western Digital disks will probably not fit into the Network Adaptor because it's physically incompatible with it. (If you insist on using a WD, you need to modify the Network Adaptor).

SATA disks are NOT supported by the offical Sony Network Adaptor, unless you get a SATA to IDE adaptor or use one of those 3rd party SATA Network Adaptors.

Yes, you must defragment your game disc images if you are using a USB disk. (Unless you are going to use that old PS2 game loader known as USBAdvance/USBExtreme - which won't get you very far at all)

Do not use Power Defragmenter, unless you know what you are doing. That program is known to leave fragmented regions behind and report 0% fragmentation. Instead, use the Auslogics Disk Defragmenter.

If you are intending to use USB devices to play Playstation 2 games, you might also want to consider trying out PS2ESDL: http://psx-scene.com/forums/f253/pla...ps2esdl-63375/

It's designed and tuned for USB device support, and game + device compatibility and performance has been reported to be slightly better in some cases.

Uh and i thought that any USB based HDD would work. I have WD My little Black Book of 250 gb so this means that I need adapter for this to use, from what you wrote...right?

Would it be much of a hussle to give example which type of external Hdd would work, I will pitch from there on I promise ;)

Oh lol. You misled me into thinking that you were asking about game playback with the Internal HDD and USB HDDs. :lol:

If you are going to use an Internal HDD unit with your PS2, then yes: You have to be concerned about the brand and model of the disk.

If you are going to use an USB disk, you don't have to care about the disk..... but you have to be careful about the USB enclosure! There are incompatible USB enclosures out there, and most of them are those cheap ones.

Multifunction USB devices are not supported at all.

Ok thanks for all the info,really. I am not that savvy to put internal HDDs into PS2 so I will be sticking to the things I can do and that is to softmod and work with plug-play type of devices ;).

Is there some text which might help me to figure out how to add a subcontent so it is shown in FMCB menu (i.e. I copy/pasted OPL to the MS but it is not shown trough menu like ESR SMS ect, so I need to run uLaunch to access it). I probably need to modify something in the config file...if you know a link I would appreciate it, no need to explain just a link thnx

Just hold start on startup of FMCB and and it to OSD not that hard really
or go down OSD and start FMCB config that way too :D

Thank you for all help, I figured out that regarding OPL and USBExtreme, now I intend to add PS2ESDL and would need few clarifications.

1. I dled Auslogics disc defragmenter and used it on a game which I converted with USB extreme, and choose the file deframentation option on all three files which were created with USB extreme and each time it took about a sec-two to finish the job. Is this ok since powerdefragmenter takes about 5-10 mins to finish the job

2. Regarding PS2DCDMP - I am unsure about this Upgrader which from the reading I need to use if one is using PS2ESDL v 0821 and games which were converted using PS2DCDMP, correct? Do I use this Upgrader that after I place the game on my USB (which is 8Gb 1.0/1.1/2.0 compatible), defragment it and than put this Upgrader into root of the USB? This Upgrader does not need to be run if games were converted with USBExtreme or? (hmm When I try using PS2DCDMP I get error Unable to create disc image file on target drive - is this related to that if disc is not FAT32 it can not save on it or)

After the Auslogics Disk Defragmenter completes defragmenting your game files, are all of them 100% defragmented (No red regions for those files)? It yes, then you are done.

If it won't defragment, then your disk might be too full.

PS2DCDMP is the installer that will install games in PS2ESDL's native format. The Upgrader provided was meant for users of PS2ESDL v0.810 (Which used older PS2ESDL formats), to upgrade their PS2ESDL game installations to the latest format.

If you didn't use an older version of PS2DCDMP meant for versions of PS2ESDL before v0.820, you won't have to use the upgrader at all.

As for that error message: You need to create a folder named "PS2ESDL" (Without the quotes) in the root of your USB disk first, before using PS2DCDMP. The root of your USB disk is the topmost folder level (E.g. my USB disk is drive H, so the root of that disk is H:\).

Hi SP193, still appreciate all the help. ;)

Now I installed as said Auslogic Disc Defrag, also I made the the dump of my backuped up ISO with PS2DCMP to HD than copy/pasted to USB. But I did not manage to defrag the files after placing them to PS2ESDL folder on the root of my drive. When starte ESLD reads the game but when try to run it the window pop out saying that there is fragmented files. As said I could not defrag (it reports 30% ) the file so how to start the game? Koz when I press start it locks on black screen.

Could it be compatibility issue with game, even tho it is rather old GUN game...

EDIT: Had to defragment the files with powerdefragmenter copy/paste them to USB, that did the trick, no error report about fragmented files from ESDL. Auslogic which I have seems no to do the job...Could be some other version with you? Mine is 3.3.0.2
