I've wanted to play this since I heard rumors of the patch. I finally got Free MC Boot installed. I have a pre-patched (english patch) ISO. I have patched it with both memento and ESR Disc Patcher and neither worked. Both just go to a black screen as soon as I launch them with ESR. I am using some Memorex DVD-R discs. I am wondering if those are the problem? The Browser shows it as a "DVD Video".

I have a Version 1 Release Day PS2. I have considered getting a HD for it, but I'm not sure which ones will actually work correctly with my version. I've visited the compatibility checker, but there are very few reviews on HD's for my version and those reviews are a mixed bag and are more confusing than helpful (EX: Maxtor 6E040L0 says that it works, but the two reviews say that "it don't work" for a V10 PS2, so would they work on mine then???).

I've also tried to research how to install games to my flash drive, but I'm not having much luck with that either. I wish this was as simple as my PSP...

    right....

    Official OPLv0.8 User Guides

check the "Installing" section, somewhere halfway down the page.

I did that. The games still don't work. I use the programs listed to "install" to the flash drive. Problem OPL comes up and there is nothing that shows a flash drive or anything other than "settings" menus.
I was hoping that someone may have had experience with the game I'm trying to run? I've tried both Front Mission 5: Scars of Wars Eng Patched and Transformers Tatakai. Neither work as DVD's or as games uploaded to the Flash Drive (correctly formatted). So either both games were bad .iso's, the program can't play them correctly, or I'm doing something wrong. I'm not sure which of the 3 it is.

EDIT 1: I should mention that what happens with the OPL, I got it to show the games now, but I just get a black screen after the colored screens???
EDIT 2: I got Transformers Tatakai up and running via the "installation" method using the programs to break the game down. That didn't seem to work for Front Mission 5 though. I've renamed and defragmented Front Mission 5's iso correctly (I think), but OPL won't acknowledge the iso in the DVD folder. All it shows is the Transformers game sitting in the root.

EDIT 3: When I renamed the file using the tool, it gave me: SLPM_662(dot)05(dot)FrontMission5(dot)iso It is 3,826,656 KB. Is that too large to run as an ISO using OPL v0.8? I know it says it will handle up to 4GB, but that's pretty close? Also, is there some reason why the split up version (using USBUtil v2.00) just goes directly to a black screen after the colored screens flash up?

I hope your images are not patched with ESR (cause you patched it in your first post...).
Then it donīt works with OPL. You must unpatch it with ESR-Disc-patcher.....

And try it with PS2ESDL if itīs playable....
