Have you already tried to format your memcard with datels tool ?

If not i think this come from here, as there's ECC tricks in some DATEL cards (i don't know if all use the same to emulate it).

The previous elf installer didn't work properly. Using the 1.1 version patching on the computer worked just fine. When i format it using ARMAX (don't know the version), it shows it as 0kb free but i can still copy files to it. I'm tempted to try my 8MB but its my main card even though i backed up all saves to hdd.

Really great, jimmikaelkael and all the other people involved in this project! Tested the new 1.2 Beta with Memor32 and a "Memory Max 16MB" and it really worked great with it! Even booting from the second MC-slot worked!! Keep up the great work, it's really nice to see the PS2 homebrew scene coming up again (just look at the promising SNES emulator done by ragnarok240!). Oh, btw, my PS2 is a fatty PAL thingy, I think V4.

Agreed. Can someone post the last version that jimmi linked to? Megaupload currently says the file is "unvailable"

@jimmi - if possible, can you upload directly to the forums on a release or to your 4shared? Megaupload has massive problems on my cpu.

I just wanted to mention that, for those new to ps2 homebrew, with Codebreaker >= version 7.1 with a flash drive and only one memory card, you can use it with SMS from here to install the new version of the exploit. Put the pelican.bin file in the root of your usb stick with Free McBoot. Start Codebreaker, it'll boot up SMS, then set the path for the "Exit to:" option to the Free McBoot Elf and you can now install the exploit.

I'll update the tutorial as soon as I can obtain the newest release and get my net connection stable. Thanks for the reminder of that boot method!

I'm using 1.2 on (i don't know how to check the version) fatty NTSC console. Swapping works to get the games running, but I tried playing dirge of cerberus and it crashed at the first movie of starting a new game

This is my very first post and wanna tell my experience with Free McBoot v1.2.

I have a matrix modded v9 NTSC and installed free mc boot in a red original memory card. Tested in my v9 and worked like a charm.

Had tested in a unmodded v15 (77001) silver NTSC ps2 and worked in parts. I was able to run SMS and play avi files in a mp3 usb stick.

IF a try to set disc control on in ule, it hangs and next time I reset the screen goes black. Had to bring to my v9 just do turn it off the disc control option and worked again on v15. (In v9 the disc control can be on without problems).

I think there's a problem with disc/dvd in ntsc v15. I'm waiting anxiously for next release to be able to play tons of avi in dvd (although I can copy them every time I want to play one - my friend just have 1GB usb stick).

Other problem I had: I copied the content of his memory card and formated with 1.2. When I copied contents back... it stop working (when I go in ps2 browser it shows NO DATA for memory card). WHAT I am doing wrong? Appreciate any help

I have a problem. If I boot a Multilanguage game (original, backup, USBAdvance..) it takes automatically english language. If I boot without Free Mc it boots in Spanish. ¿It olso happends with memor32 any idea?
