Did anyone noticed that the flashing program can't flash memory cards if you replace them after it booted ? Is it detecting memory card removal ?
Since memory cards have to be "unlocked" before they can be accessed, you have to keep the memory card connected to the PS2 all the time. If you remove it HDProject X can't flash it. Just something I noticed when I tried to flash mine ...
I was able to flash mine after removing one and putting in another...
If you want to get it to boot off the MC rather than USB then do this
download MPLUS-LOADER2.ELF(PAL) or MPLUS-LOADER2-NTSC.ELF(NTSC)
rename it RUNME1.ELF(it might be RUNME.ELF, just replace RUNME)
now download the ELF you want to boot when your ps2 turns on
rename that file EXECUTE1.ELF
replace RUNME.ELF with the new one above
put EXECUTE1.ELF in the SAME directory
reboot your ps2 and remove the USB stick and enjoy.

Second, excuse my bad english.
Now, my tests' results:
1º. With a 8MB mc ... ALL OK
2º. With another 8MB mc ... ALL OK
3º. With a 64MB mc ... DON'T WORK
I make a 2nd tests with the 64MB and still not work. The flash process is very quick. Then I make a dump of the flashed mc and... tihs dump was only 8MB!!! (and very slowly)
Another problem I've seen is that USB Advance's elf don't work for me when I start the PS2 with this method. The same elf works fine when I start with memento. HDLoader works fine with all.
Apparently, it only works for me after following KainXS' advice, even though jimmi did mention it but thought of only using mymc, and using uLauncher to transfer the RUNME.ELF rather than modifying the .ps2 image. Otherwise, if straight flash to the patched image or modified image, it does not work. Possibly the RUNME.ELF on the patched FreeOSDatel image is not compatible with my system?
I think it would be a good idea to put in the runme.elf file a code to solve the language problem with the multilanguaje games that have not a language selection. I'm spanish and all this games (originals, of course) are playing for me in english when using hdloader (my dvd reader is broken). This is for me the greatest problem with memento, and now also with this release. I know nothing in PS2 programming and I don't know if it is easy or difficult.
Yes!!! it works thanks KainXS for the tip I used ulaunchELF because I could not figure our how to do it with mymc. I just transferred the files from the usb to the mc powered off my ps2 unplugged the usb and powered it on and was greeted to ulaunch. Anyone having trouble just use ulaunch and follow KainXS method. This is working on my v12 ps2.

THX to bootlegninja, who patched the image for my Sony 8MB (no Win here :D ).
This will be my Rescue/Recovery-MC.
And the possibility to help others with no mod, to Exploit their PS2 with a MC.
I think it might possible, to do the PC-Step on PS2-Side, even if it takes a while.
I think an installer MIGHT possible.
INSTALL to MC2 [ mc1:/ ] (if it is in MC-Slot1)
INSTALL to MC1 [ mc0:/ ] (if it is in MC-Slot2)
Installer Asks you to install an ELF, or the Standard-MG-Exploit.
If another ELF, than the MG-Xploit should installed, it pre-modifies the image with a new ELF, or install it after flashing (if it uses a loader, or if the ELF you choose is directly encrypted, is not relevant I think).
Just need to port the ID-Patching and ECC-Correction to PS2 (don't we?). :P
