Agreed, they do it in another way,... Didn't work for ya? Works good for all of my PS2-Discs, but of course not others, because that wasn't implemented.

Huh? I cant seem to find the point your trying to make with all that....
They wouldn't reach the button-check, if disc-check is before.
How can you say that "Autoboot-Disc" is optional, if it is forced OFF if another option is ON?
And all those Options are exactly that....optional.
Of course the user has the choice but a limited, while the other just gives even more freedom. I just can't see, why this option should limit Autobot-disc and set it off.
So the user chooses what they want to do by selecting those options, they arent FORCED to do anything. If you have NO choice and it happens without you wanting it to is being forced. But the choice is there, turn Skip Disc to OFF.
If you wan't to skip the disc ever, there might be an other option to disable Fastboot and turn OSD-SkipDisc on.
I see your point and that is, what Modchips do, I think,...
I want Fastboot to INSTANLY run my discs, without going thru all the bootup process, like RESCUE.ELF does. Thats what i would call FastBoot. ;)
Run it instantly on fastboot, but if a button is pressed, it also gives the freedom, to launch in another mode, like DEV.1-Mode.
That's why I thought it should before Fastboot.
I have it vice verca. :) Fastboot on and I press a button and I thought, it might can boot all valid discs from both Fastboot and OSD.
What we had isnt what i'd call fastboot. If i sneezed, i'd never know if i ever had the option ON. What we has was the option to 'autoboot' and i dont know about you, but in the test, i still have this option by simply turing OFF Skip Disc. :)
Fastboot helped sometimes, if it didn't boot through OSD (yes, mostly betas).
IF "OSDSYS_Skip_Disc" is on, Autoboot_Disc is forced to OFF, or not?
So i dont understand what all that talk of "IF" they have this, then they are "FORCED" to do that. Simply dont do that and theres no worry of force on anything.
So what does an actual modchip do in such a different way, that you totally disagree with the current FMCB 1.6Final-Structure?
Well i agree the final should be something worth adding. Im looking forward to an option that actually will "Fast Boot" a disc. :)
Thought it does nothing in another way, than mods (except the rescue.elf maybe  ).
Yes, I thought the "OSDSYS-Skip"-Options are good placed in OSD-Options. lol :)
I was merely agreeing on moving menu items around and simply copy/pasted a part of the quote. Your the one who came up with that phrase and i dismissed it as a meaningless phrase, I just assumed it was your "translation" name to put it in a submenu.
If is was an option, sure it could. But turning off Skip Disc allows the disc to autoboot, its just not the few seconds faster.
I think "OSDSYS_Skip_Disc" is an option to prevent the disc-startup in OSD, not also for Autoboot-Disc/Fastboot.
Autoboot-Disc can disabled by his own "on/off"-switch in CNF.
Why should the OSD-Option prevent discs at all?
Fastbot wouldn't causes ANY problems, even if it is still enabled and "" disabled, in OSD, or would it? Correct me if I'm wrong.
And so it makes sense to remove one, as was done. ;)
Well, there are other useful things we could have too, but dont.
What about the auto(boot)-elf-users? :(
Yes, it could. ^^
lost me again....
Why should they need to boot a disc a few seconds sooner? The "why do this" can go on and on and on.......
Thought it was requested for the OSD.
Many people requested that option, so it was added.
It could be done quite easier I think. :)
Quite right, its senseless to have both options, when one works for both. So removing one solves that 'conflict'. ;)
Agreed, me too.
Nothing for me to 'leave as it is', im just like you making suggestions, i'm just in agreement with jimmi removing that option as it was, but im sure it will return a better option when it does.
well of course jimmi decides, silly! I always repect his decisions, if i have a suggestion, i tell him and leave it alone so he can figure out what he wants to do. I dont continue to pester on a single idea or request until it breaks him into doing it just to shut me up. ;)
I suggested an Idea, like your's to remove something.
As for the users posting......they always do.....:)
Whataya mean ...WE?? lol, your alone on that idea.......
Was a Jerk.
o.k. than I'll going backwards. ;)
Substituing an option with another option that still allows the removed option to work isnt going backwards, its called progress. ;).
It couldn't be even much faster.
I dont know why we are even calling the removed Autoboot option 'Fastboot' , it wasnt really fast at all or worth the name. I would like to see a REAL Fastboot option as im sure many others would too.
It needs ~2 or 3 seconds to load the osdmain.elf 75kb
Than does the init-process and just all nessessary. Buttonlaunch AT ALL wouldn't take much time. While the logo is displayed, the game get's loaded in the background, so how much faster should it be.
On my V7, it boots a few seconds faster, even if I do it through OSD with skip-logo on.
Fastboot is faster for me. ^^
