The PS2 can run any region with FMCB but if your TV may not support NTSC or PAL that is the real problem

    V10 SCPH-50001 with Network adapter SCPH-10281 500 G HD
    PSP 3000 9G 6.20 PRO CFW Perm
Unofficial FMCB v1.8C OPL self compiled HD and SMB preferred
Is how all good gaming systems came to be

Gosh. Someone ought to write in CAPS in the first post of the FMCB thread "THIS DOES NOT ALLOW YOU TO BOOT IMPORT/BURNED Playstation/Playstation 2 GAME DISCS".

No, FMCB alone won't allow you to boot imports or burned discs. You need something else like ESR as well. Either that, or use a Swapmagic ELF (Or maybe Cogswap may work, but I'm not sure whether it was designed for the same purpose).

Oh no, I wasn't directing it at you. Sorry. D:

What I meant was that it should be written somewhere that FMCB alone does not allow anyone to boot games that the console won't allow the user to boot... without some help.

    That one? It's dead.
(Even if it had a chance of being revived, I totalled it by accident when soldering... after I couldn't find the cracked joint).

The new SCPH-10000 in my sig has a really low serial number of S0500044 J, so I'm thinking that it's special since it's purchase date was exactly on the launch month itself (03/2000). :P

The previous one was a re-release from Sony (05/2000, boot ROM v1.01).
