Well, to my opinion we can wait a little bit more, again PM Neme and Jimmikaelkael, and if guys wont respond, then try to talk to SP193...
SP193 already created FMCB version... I think he can install new Art from Berion to FMCB.
I really like your new look of FMCB --Berion... I think that we must use it in version 1.9---it will attract more users to ps2, popularize it and bring fresh look to it...

Again, I did not create FMCB. I don't have the source code for it as Jimmikaelkael said that he wouldn't trust me to not leak it when I asked him for it in around year 2010.

I only wrote the installer that installs FMCB v1.8C.

Ok, I understand that without source code we wont be able to do anything. I just do not understand why it is so important to keep source code secret? We know for sure that FMCB wont work on models 90xxx, so sony wont do anything in order it stop working on earlier models, so what is the reason to keep it closed-source? Maybe there is something inside which is not really free?
The same situation with SMS--EEUG left ps2-scene but looks like hi also kept source secret for SMS, at least for latest version...2.9 rev4...

Anyway does anyone know if Neme and Jimmikaelkael are active on psx-scene?When was the latest activity?

Ok, looks like Neme does not visit very often psx-scene,probably he has got some life obligations.
And jimmikaelkael is still with us on psx-scene...

So some questions:
1. Can jimmikaelkael alone create next version of FMCB with ART from Berion to be integrated in it ?
2. Will Neme agree if jimmikaelkael creates Next version of FMCB ?
3. Can someone PM jimmikaelkael and ask him to help community to get new version of FMCB with new ART from Berion ?

The reason for closing src is not Sony. Sony turn off OSD update as quickly as they can, even on the same mobo revision models. The real reason Was idiots who selling modified FMCB as their own on online auctions etc.

Today PS2 is dead, also PS3 will be in near future (this is the last year when some *good* new games appear and before new system launch) and I think we can open it. But decision is *not* mine. Also as I stated before, I have not src for 1.8c, only for 1.8b. Jimmi not respond me yet, and probably will never do it. So, probably this subject is closed for forever. Sorry. Believe me, I also want new implementations but some things is beyond me.

It theory, we could replace logo in FMCB 1.8b and making new GUI rev in uFMCB but this could be totally *without any sense*.


BTW: You can blame me. Yes. Because Neme and Jimmi ask me for logo and GUI many months before they are disappear. But then I haven't time for it nor vein. So yes, this is my fault.

Ok now I see the reason for closing source. I think that ModChip devs for PS2 have to create ability automatically execute any copied ELF to internal memory of Modchip for 90xxx models but not like it now --press R1 at boot in order it to start... (A little off-topic)...
Yes I have to agree that Ps2 is dead---no new games coming out for it... but I actually really amazed is that it is still evolves...
The most moving projects now:
1.OPL,
2.GSM_OPL from DoctorXYZ,
3.Linux from Megaman,
4.Widescreen Hacks,
5. PS2psxe...
But lets agree that there is still a lot of interesting games for PS2 which we can buy for 1 or 2 bucks now and play... a lot of ps2 games still not walked through...
I have PS3 and very happy with graphics for it, even can not believe that one day ps3 will be outdated,,, But to my opinion PS3 will be very popular for very long period of time, if PS2 already 12 years old and still used by people, so PS3 with HD quality will be very popular for years to come,even though not all games output in 1080p still games look awesome and very real, I mean for real fans like me for example.. What I happy about is that when all games will be walked through on PS3---people can install to it real Linux OS like Ubuntu, OpenSuse, Fedora, Yellow Dog Linux, Red Ribbon and use it as Real PC... What is upsetting me is that Ubuntu, Fedora and OpenSuse future versions are not supported anymore for ps3 by creators because sony removed support for otherOS, so devs removed suppport for ports from main fork... Very like to use Showtime--it is amazing to watch films in HD... I think that the difference between PS3 and PS4 will be that PS4 will support all its games in 1080p (No support for 2160p because Displays for such videoresolution are not widespread yet---anyway I think that it is for better because developers will be concentrated on visuals than on resolution) graphically will look a little bit better, so I think it wont be really so necessary to buy...
I think that I wont buy Ps4, I am happy with PS2 and PS3. Also I heard that in PS4 will be very strong relations between disks and console---no possibility to buy used disks. Also I think that PS4 wont have support for Linux at all after all events with Linux on PS3.... I do not know, probably in future I will migrate to using Pc as main gaming platform.. The only thing I do not like about PC gaming---is to play using keyboard and mouse as controllers --I used already to gamepad.. Actually I personally compared the same games on PS3 and PC---for Example Mirros Edge---and I noticed that on PC from Graphical point of view games look much more better... On PC in the same games--Higher resolutions, more detailed textures, real video-resolution, Edges-smoothing(Antialiasing MLAA)....
Berion what are the differences between 1.8b and 1.8c source? I mean are they very different? Will casual user notice the difference from compatibility and productivity point of view?
Well actually new GUI wont change FMCB to operate differently, so from that point of you there is no changes, but to be honest new GUI would bring sense of satisfaction that FMCB became to some extent a little bit different, a little bit with more fresh look. And a lot of users would be happy to experience it... And I have to admit that "to change things for better even a little bit" is Fun... I am voting for changes to FMCB...

Berion can you yourself create new FMCB or you have to ask jimmikaelkael and Neme for permission in order to do that? I mean jimmikaelkael and Neme are creators of FMCB but do you think would they agree for new version of FMCB?
