    - "BOOT.ELF" file to be injected in dvdelf and replace the Free McBoot loader.

What is this feature for? Can you put an example on how to use it or how can it fe usefull?

It is suposed that Free MCBOOT boots the BOOT.ELF defined in the CNF, so what will this do?

People should learn to do a little research.
    Read the Readme!
You can embed your own ELF, instead of the FMCB-Loader.
If you embed an ELF correctly, it will ever start after you plugged in the MC and restart the PS2.

    From "ESR release post.txt":

IMPORTANT NOTE: The ESR application requires my cdvdinit fix to be loaded first, so either use FMCB with default launcher (it will contain my fix) or launch it manually (using RUNME1.1a).
I expect this sould explain your problem

It should also work, if you have one of this tings done:

    1.:
Copy your embedded ESR to DVD-Player-Upgrade-Folder and create DVD-VIDEO-TS-ES-Xploit.
It is the same MG-Exploit, as FMCB, but it doesn't use the OSDSYS-Upgrade.
    Instead, it uses the DVD-Player-Upgrade.

Try to start the "Video-DVD" which is in your drive.
    It may start through PS2-Browser.
This should work, else if FMCB is installed, or not.
I didn't tested it yet, but you can give it a try.

If your DVDV-Patched game is in, it'll be recognized as DVD-Video.
    Start the DVD-Video.
If it doesn't start your DVD-Player and load, it'll be like Memento through PS2-Browser I think.

    or 2.:
Install FMCB (regardless of the version, if cdvd-fix is in to access disc).
    Set ESR as your Auto-BOOT-ELF.

Embedding your own elf isn't the right thing to do because the default loader makes some patches that enhances elf compatibility and enables some things (cdvd fix for example).

It also makes possible to run hdloader games with the correct language setting.

This option isn't really useful, the only use I see to it is to embed a modified launcher instead of compiling the hole installer, which is an option non user available, as such things might not be done by the user.

    OK i understood everything now.

Then i think the same, this option isn't useful for the final user, i think it can be removed if it gets space, and they should add an option to install ESR from FMCB when it finishes installing, it is the best thing to do and we don't even need the embedd thing.

It doesn't get any space, as it isn an installer's option, which you might not run from the mc at anytime, as to run it from mc you need to copy it to mc, thus reading it from another media. Then just run it from the other media which might not have any size problems.

You can install ESR as boot.elf with a cnf file, but it could copy a BOOT folder inside installer's, with a configured cnf and the elf files, anyway I prefer doing that manually form ule, as if many elfs are used mc may run out of space leaving an incomplete installation which is just a headache for the user and for the one implementing that on the installer.

Copying boot.elf is enough I think, then just make your setup afterwards.

i can't get this to work, i copied the 'boot folder' save onto my USB using max, put my ULE boot.elf and the .CNF file in, then replaced the old boot folder with that ULE version. it makes no difference, still nothing happens. the only difference is i now do not get the browser if i have a proper game in, otherwise it still defaults to the PS2 browser. same thing when i try with USB drive. all freeMCboot seems to have done is added a couple of black screens, what am i doing wrong?
