FMCB on older systems
Been trying to find an answer to a question that's burning my brain. Since I don't like to start something without knowing for sure it will work.
I'll be getting an old version 1 (should be ver.1 anyway) PS2 console.
As far as I can tell Free McBoot/ESR seems like a great idea, but here's the question:
Will FMCB work on such an old system?
Been reading up on it as much as I can, but I just haven't found this particular information.
Sorry for such a basic question, but figured I'd ask.
Yes it will. The tutorial even states that it will work on a Version 0 jap ps2 as well.(although that version needs extra modules on the MC to make it work.) but a v1 will work.
Thx for the reply.
As you can see, I am new to this stuff. Consoles is not something I'm used to tinker with.
Again, thank you for clearing this up. Now all I need is to get this stuff installed
TnA says that there are similar problems on the original SCPH-10000 to the new SCPH-90000 PS2s, though I couldn't get him to elaborate.
Perhaps he means that they both need these "extra modules" you speak of?
