Hey, I just updated the Nooby-Install-Package.

    The changes are:

    -Updated: uLE to 4.42a (Beta)
-Updated: SMS to 2.9 Rev.4 patched by SP193, to also support V0-PS2s.
    -Replaced: HDLoader with 'Open PS2 Loader'/OPL 0.8
OPL simply is supperior in many cases now and also users with 'slim' PS2s,
or old PCMCIA-PS2s can use it. It simply also more matches the 'FMCB-Thing',
to be compatible to as many PS2-Versions as possible.
-Changed: ESR.ELF is now the 'dvdv direct'-version, so it auto-starts the ESR-Discs.
Furthermore, ESR-GUI (test 2) is still included and linked to the OSDSYS and a
    Button-Shortcut on StartUp.
-Includes modified (Example-)FREEMCB.CNF (one with app-versions, one only with names)
Normally the CNF is created after the 'FMCB-Loader'/MC-KELF is successfully installed,
but with this Example-CNF (which gets installed instead of the embedded one from the
FMCB-Installer) it might be easier for some people, to create their own custom Packages
(for example including emulators, games, engine-ports and so on.)...

-created 'Docs+Extras'-Folder and included documents and additional files (language-files, fonts,...) in it for those various apps.
I'll update any additional stuff which is missing or buggy, once I see a complain about it.
Other than that, if it is a CNF-Error others can post a corrected CNF simply.

This package should be enough as a basic package for MC, gives a basic example how to create Install-packages and it is up-to-date.
If you don't want one of these apps installed onto MC, simply delete the ELF within the 'INSTALL'-Folder.

    Edit:

Update: Oooops, sorry for the file which shouldn't be there.

Thanks! I never would have known about the SP193 V0 patch. I'm sure this is good news to people who have one.

    Nice package.

Just to be sure that the newbies who own a SCPH-10000 and/or a SCPH-15000 aren't going to scream "Why doesn't this copy of SMS work on my console?!" later on:

    NOTE!!:

If you have a Japanese SCPH-10000 or SCPH-15000 console,
you are required to place a copy of rom0:LIBSD from a NEWER console that has this file
into the SAME folder where you're launching this ELF from as LIBSD.irx. It's case sensitive.

(E.g. if you place the ELF into mass:, you must place rom0:LIBSD from a newer console as mass:LIBSD.irx.)

If you have a newer console, you should be able to run this version of SMS without any extra files.

FREESD DOESN'T WORK WITH THIS HACKED VERSION OF SMS!!!!

Please do NOT bundle this hacked copy of SMS with that LIBSD file, because it's a COPYRIGHTED file from SONY!!

    -------------
    NOTE 2!!:

If you're using a SCPH-10000 and/or a SCPH-15000 Playstation 2, the only places where this version of SMS will probably work when launched would be mc0:, mc1:, mass: and probably cdrom0: too.
If you're using a newer Playstation 2, it should work when launched from any location.

I'VE ONLY TESTED THIS ON MY SCPH-10000, LAUNCHING IT FROM MASS: !!
It works on my SCPH-77006 when launched from mass: too.

    -------------
SMS belongs to it's original creators, so credit goes to the original creator (I'm just a guy who extended his work).
So you can see that my "fix" wasn't really a true fix.

First off, I find that to be very rude. Just because we had opposite results does not mean I am a liar. As it says in my sig I have a 12k. It is entirely possible that my experience is a problem with my series system or even just my ps2 alone. If you didn't mean to be rude I am sorry but, that's how I took it.

Of course it failed. The SCPH-10000 and SCPH-15000 consoles don't have the DVD Player in it's ROM chip(s).

juggalomars was talking about a totally different problem being fixed.

    Thanks for the update.

I'm a noob but I recently successfully installed FMCB on my and two friends ps2 memory cards using the previous nooby package.

I had to use the CB Burn method described on the Install page.

Is there a simple way for me to in effect re-install the new nooby package with all the updates on all three mc's (noting how I had to install data on the cards in the first place)?

In other words, would it be simpler in the long run to compile another install cd with the new install package, rather than having to individually source and install each update?

And just to REALLY show my noobishness - can I simply delete the previous install from the ps2 browser?

    Thanks in advance.
