You allready need a way to start Homebrew and then can either read the ROMVER-String in uLE's debug-info-screen, or dump&unpack the ROMVER-File from your BIOS.

or how do i look up the 8C you made mention of?

    Thanks
Just look at the 'sticker'/label, where you can read he SCPH-900xx-Code and your serial.

Good luck with those old 10k consoles. Personally, I could not get fmcboot to work on an SCPH-30000, ver 4 J console, not for anything. I even mailed another member with the same machine one of my memory cards, who has one, and had him install it, and all I got was a black screen. I bought a swap magic disc for it, and ran the fmcboot installation that way, and it worked, installing fmcboot, then it ran fmcboot, from the installation menu, but rebooting the console subsequently got me that black screen again, it would only run properly when it was run the first time, from the installation's menu. I gave up, and still can't make any sense of it. I hate when that happens, technical problems that I can't solve bother me forever.
A toxic agent on a dangerous mission so secret, even I don't know what it is, because if I did, I would have to kill myself. I don't even know who's side I am on.

you cant yet , there is no installer for the PS2 that does it. you can with the original SONY PS3 memory card to USB adaptor. as far as i have read this only works with the genuine adaptor at the moment.

    Another method is possible, afaik:

-You need a tool to get the MC-Signing-ID
    -You need a HEX-Editor

You need to manually re-sign the KELF, by using an HEX-Editor.

...other than that,... you can wait for an automated installer.

    Hey,

I was wondering if I could get some advice. I have a Fat PS2, namely SPCH3003 which I tried to install homebrew on using the disc swap method. I picked up Agent Under Fire today and followed the guides carefully to make sure everything i was doing was ok. I made the altered backup with the driving elf file in the right place, had the data stick in the front of the PS2 and enough space on the memory card. I got up until the 2nd level, swapped the discs (which caused the PS2 to be unresponsive for several mins) then I was able to finally select the 2nd level, after which all I got was just a black screen. I waited but nothing happened.

I'm PAL (UK) if that makes any difference.

Any help would be greatly appreciated.
