i used cogswap to install the original memory card exploit. just burn a ps2 cd-r iso of fmcb.. then boot up a blue bottom disc in cogswap, swap it for the fmcb ps2-iso you made in ps2cdgen, and finally install it to the second mc (im assuming you're using the psone disc exploit and memory card 1 to boot cogswap, right?)
when making the iso in ps2cdgen, just drag the system.cnf file in first, and chage it's lba to 12231. then add the executable for the installed, it should have an lba of 12232, then add the rest of the crap affter.,

thanks for the reply, im actually doing it this way-i have edited version of nightfire with cogswap, i dont have any ps1 disc and i dont have any cd's around lol, but what i do have is dvd, is there any possible way to do this with a dvd? Cogswap is verison 1.0 and it loads backups perfectly, its just that i try doing the agent under fire exploit and when ulaunchelf starts it gives me a black screen

not sure about that: the original way i booted cogswap was the method with ps2 independence exploit. it revolved around putting the cogswap on the memory card,
then you just boot with any psone disc and that memory card in (you specify the serials of the games for psone you own in a text)
the system with that memory card and psone disc combo hi-jacks the system into running cogswap.
anyways, back to your question:
im assuming you COULD do the trick with nightfire. once you get into cogswap, and you have ejected for your legit ps2 dvd game, make sure that you go thru the extra steps to burn a ps2 dvd game properly.
i think just dragging the files on a disc in nero or windows isnt good enough. thatll work for a modchip, but you may run into issues.
i copy and pasted this from a psx scene forum. but you may find more better guide. look for something like: burning ps2 homebrew to dvd

now burn the elf and a system.cnf to load the elf to a dvd
put it in your ps2 and play as you would anyother ps2 dvd backup
works perfect on my Matrix Infinity 1.38
i have done this with pgen and snes station and have had no problems

well, i didnt use ulaunchelf to install FMCBOOT, just burn the noobie package oif fmcboot to a dvd, making sure u have the system.cnf and whatnot setup right.
Converting Ps2 CD Games to DVD games (For ESR)
try this guide for burning the dvd if the other method doesnt work. you see, this guide is for converting ps2 cd to dvd games, so it includes at the end how to make the iso to a dvd out of a folder full of files.
ive done this tutorial and then patched the game to work in esr, so i can confirm that it does make proper dvd images, and you can patch them with esr as well.
anyways, good luck
